It's spring in Ireland. Wicked wet but it's actually fascinating how similar Ireland and new Zealand are. Albeit mountains and farms are similar. Our 2 countries really feed the world....

Gidday, seeing you pick those field mushrooms made my mouth water, as a kid back in the 50s at Utiku we would gather field mushrooms and sell them to passing travelers on the main road, ( state highway one) for a Penney a pound, great dayslove you show. Cheers

Hello I have just started to watch your videos and I am enjoying them very much ….i am a ex dairy farm here in the uk …fat lamb price here has been the best ever …the average pence per kg last week in Carlisle Cumbrian was £2.66 with a top price of £3.75 but these prices have eased back in price …..keep up the good work

Great job on the water trough guys, that mist stopped us getting the view today.

Those water fittings if you screw the coupling out but not fully you can slide the pipe inside without taking everything apart and they will line up perfectly and you won’t get wet or lose the o ring.

It's a gravity setup with about 100m of head pushing down on the trough.

@tc65738 ай бұрын
What breed of rams are you using this year. In the UK wee would say blackberry's are the last fruit before winter. £410 / 500 liters for red diesel. Not sure New Zealand prices. R3 hoggets 700-710p /22kg dead wieght Keep well!
@stewbird8 ай бұрын
We are sitting around an average of $2 ltr for diesel. Cheaper on farm delivery/ truck stops

Have you ever designed a corral that could handle cattle and sheep?

No but essentially they are the same but have more rails. You could have a small drafting race off to the side just for sheep

what do you do with the crutchings in the yards?
@PeteThecurious1008 ай бұрын
If it's like our farm you tip it over the bank. Wool is a net cost now. Daggy crutchings are good mulch for around young ornamental trees on the farm.

Do you think that Hansen ballcock will last with that pressure. Ours and cracking and failing within months
@kiwifarmernz8 ай бұрын
Interesting. I haven't had one fail yet. This trough would be the most pressure on the whole line so we will see.
@phil64658 ай бұрын
How come you didn’t set the new water trough next to the fence, so the cattle couldn’t stand on the inlet pipe. Or do you want 360 degree access to trough?
@kiwifarmernz8 ай бұрын
So the neighbours cows don't push through the deer fence to get to the water
@ashdavy98288 ай бұрын
Never put troughs on the fence line unless it’s internal. Nobody likes giving free water to the neighbours 😂
