sheep conservation farm.why is red Maasai breed of sheep slowly disappearing?

The red Maasai sheep's population has slowly been disappearing and a few yrs back it was facing extinction. with GOK interventions,the population is now back to health and out of danger. I visited one of the farms where conservation programs are on top gear.
