Thank you! I've been knitting for years (knit stitch only) to strengthen my hands and wrists from typing all day. I finally got out of my comfort zone and tried the mistake rib stitch because of your video. I've made two scarves with this stitch already. I'm now considering your other beginner knit stitches.

Thank you, incredibly you even explained multiples of ? Plus? To an absolute neurotic beginner knitter who suddenly loses all common sense this a HUGE help… it’s the little things, so thank you again

So happy to see your videos! This video came at the perfect time-I was trying to decide what pattern to use for a scarf I wanted to start today and had decided on "Mistake Rib." I was looking at your Infinity Scarf video when you uploaded this! Perfect timing! Thank you for creating this series!

What a coincidence! I love mistake rib in a scarf. It’s so cushy and expansive. Happy knitting!

In the round, would the pattern be: R1: K2, P2 to last 3 stiches in round K2, P1 R2: P2, K2 to last 3 stiches in round P2, K1 ? Looks really cool. Thanks!

I have instructions on how to knit this stitch in the round in the blog post, linked in the description

Can I still do the clean edge method of slipping off a stitch while doing this pattern?
@samirahahmed4895 Жыл бұрын
Can you try to do this pattern ? So, how you do it is cast on a multiple of 4 and then you K2 then P2 util the last stich ( it is a 1 row repeat)

Hey, thank you for the tutorial. Complete beginner here. I am trying this pattern but my pearl stitches are not aligned with each row, instead of ending up in a vertical line, they are coming up in a diagonal. I have restarted a couple times, and checked the number of stitches, the order of K2 and P2 and I am not finding the reason for this. Any idea s of what kind of mistake is causing this?

Is this like an updated version from your infinity scarf video? Cause whenever I used that pattern I’d always have a large hole at the top of the row.

@sheep&stich Hi Davina. I'm a bit confused. If at the end of each row, you have 3 stiches but then start the next row (in reverse) with the K2 P2 pattern, how does that align with the previous row underneath is that has 3 stiches. Surely in order to get the uniform pattern that the beginning of your video demonstrates, you'd need to start off each alternate row with the 3 stiches? I've knitted 5 rows so far and there is no uniform pattern emerging and it looks a mess and I've been writing down meticulously what I knitted. I'm not blaming you at all. I'm just confused!

Hi Samantha. I’m just a person that reads the comments😃 I’m going to try to help you. Let’s think of the pattern like this: being happy all the way across the row with K2, P2 to the very last stitch which will ALWAYS be a purl stitch. Try NOT think of ‘three stitches’ at end of row. Then the next row, again, is K2, P2, to the last stitch which is purl. I hope this helps!!

So, do you cast off the same no matter what type of stitch you do? I am definitely a beginner, so I have no clue. Thanks for the tutorial, very helpful.
@sheepandstitch9 ай бұрын
You can do a regular cast off or you can cast off in pattern, which I cover in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYXNZ2uHjL1jmtEsi=U9HJD-CSfJS9KzqK the latter is a bit neater but both options will get you a secure cast off

Will this be too stretchy to use for a blanket ? Will it pull in too much ?
@sheepandstitch Жыл бұрын
It’s not very stretchy. And you can always block it so it lays more flat. This stitch, feather and fan, seed stitch and moss stitch would knit up beautifully into blankets
@petulajoan Жыл бұрын
Oh great to hear from you. Thanks for the info. I’ve been blocking the edges of the blankets I’ve been making to even out my terrible weaving in the ends. I might block the entire project this time. Thanks for the suggestions.

Question , having watched your mistake rib infinity scarf it was 4+1 with a two row repeat , this is 4+3 with a single row repeat . Why would I choose one over the other
