How did cutlist generate the bounding box property? Is that for the flat or for the 3D model? What year SolidWorks was that feature introduced. It could be useful for generating yields for BOMs.

The bounding box in the cut list refers to the flat pattern for sheet metal bodies. You can also run a bounding box command in SOLIDWORKS for any other part and it will create a feature in the tree and populate custom properties for that part. If you have a cut list, you can right click that folder and generate bounding boxes for all of the bodies in the part. These various functionalities were released around 5 years ago and have been in various stages of improvement along the way, if you are running an older version check the Reference Geometry drop-down or add a cut list to a part and right click to see if it is there.

how to set KFactor correctly. I struggle to match the flat pattern dimension and the formed part dimension.
@MLCCADSystems8 ай бұрын
K Factor can change depending on the dies and material used, so your best bet is to bend a sample part. Have your shop or vendor take a piece of scrap and carefully measure the length. Then bend it and measure again very carefully. Take those two measurements into SOLIDWORKS and create a sheet metal part with the same dimensions. Measure the flat and the bent dimensions, and if they don't match the sample part dimensions, adjust the k-factor until they do. You can also download the manual for this event and refer to page 19 for a deeper discussion. www.mlc-cad.com/sheet-metal-skills/
