Condolences to you and your family, I buried my mother in January , it took me 4 months to be able to even go out to do the shopping , I was so lost ,I am just starting to feel “normal “again, my world will never be the same. Please remember to take time for you. Many thanks for all the great inspiration you share, I could not make a card for 6months.then Mother’s Day came ,I pushed myself to make a card from me and one from my brother for the flowers I placed with her .remember the pain is relative to the gap that is left when we loose someone we love . I lost my Mom in 1995, and the pain never goes away. It fades, it doesn't hit as hard or as often, but it doesn't go away. I still want to pick up the phone and call my Mom, especially when I need parenting advice or just a hug from someone I know loves me no matter what. It will get better, I promise, but I am sitting here with tears wanting my Mom right now knowing your pain. Sorry for your loss. My sister was my crafting buddy, mentor, enabler. After she died it took me several weeks to get interested in making cards again. And even longer to want to do it with friends and family. But it is still one of my favorite pastimes and when I am really missing her I make a card for her them donate it to a charity.

Hello from southern Illinois. It's a rare cool slightly breezy day here. The humidity will close in soon and sitting outside with my laptop will not be a good option. Beautiful cards and sentiments. I lost my Mom 24 years ago, and my father 2 years ago. I miss them both to this day, but as time passes I breathe easier. sending tons of love and prayers your way --- self and family always come first. i lost my mom 10+ years ago - i miss her terribly daily --- despite what they say about time heals all things, it doesn't - you just learn to cope and live in a new light. i also completely understand about loosing your mojo --- my husband's aunt was my card making and crafty buddy -- we lost her 2 years ago --- it took me awhile to get back to it too. i helped her daughter - also a card marker/crafter -- go though her supplies -- and now when i'm crafting and i use a set of her's or she saves me with just the right shade of "blue" cardstock from her stash --- it makes me smile and think that the project i'm working on got a little extra love from her. be kind to yourself -- we'll all be here when you're ready ♥

Oh, Alicia, I'm truly sorry for your loss. I also lost my mother in June on the 15th in 2020. It was weird because I spoke with her the day before, as did my cousin, and she was in great spirits and said she felt good and not to worry about her. The next day I got a call that she took a turn and there was a change in her condition. (She was in a nursing home.) The next day she was gone. It was awful and during that time, I couldn't even go see her, but one of the nurses Facetime'd her with me so I could talk with her for a short bit. It still hurts, so I really, really feel your pain. I just keep telling myself she is in a better place with no pain now and I pray that is true! Anyway, my condolences to you and your family!

My condolences, it’s hard losing a parent. I lost my dad in 2014 and the pain of grief does get easier with time. During the hard times I try to think of the fond memories I had of him which does help. I hope this happens for you as well. Take care.
