Hi Dawn & Peter, great to see you taking the time for enjoying life, and not rushing about with much else. Plenty of leisure time fixing the boat around the corner. Living life comes first, as long as life aboard feels comfortable enough for you to be content. Can't believe the price of a pint though, I'd not pay that much myself, unsure of how much it is these day's as not been to pub in ages. Hi Peter and Dawn, it's good to see you again, and in good health! I have looked at those GoPros as well. They are pricey and I am too cheap. Perhaps a good mounting location would be somewhere on the forward well deck, to get a good shot of the scenery and reduce the boat engine noise. This all assumes you can find a practical mounting location. Enjoyed the video, keep up the good work - Cheers!

It's took a while for us to take the plunge and get a go pro, we will be trying various locations for mounting it. It came with a couple of mounting brackets, but I also bought a 50 piece kit (not go pro brand, but the same fitting) so they should allow us to try diferent ideas...

Your camera angle is pretty much spot on. Higher would be a lot of sky (light balance problems too) and no tow path/ water in shot. Not having filmed at all myself, but from watching a load of boat vlogs I would think that a taller tripod or mounting the camera near the bow would solve it all. Then use your phone camera in the cockpit if you want to add bits to camera.

Before you even told us the price of the food you ate, I'd paused the vlog on the hot dog van and my heart missed about six beats... One for each pound of the cost for cheese fries. For a minute I thought you were at any food market down here in Devon or Cornwall. For an event like that to be a success, those prices need to be halfed and so does the cost of the pitch.

Food events are lots of fun, but.....5 pounds for a beer? That's over $8 dollars Canadian. Ouch. Even a decent craft beer can be had for less than that on this side of the planet. 😳 As to to the Go Pro, I don't think it hurts to have a bit of context to the picture. Some boating channels show no boat at all.

Generally round here the ales I drink (craft beer / real ale etc) is usually between £3 and £4 a pint... £5.50 is way over the top for me! Go Pro wise, yes I want to keep some boat in for context... Just not a screen full of boat and no scenery! :)

@@WingingItBoatingonaBudget its a colecraft cruiser stern with a 1.5 bmc that sounds good and doesn't smoke. We've had it for about 6 weeks and given it a severe clean inside. We've replaced the kitchen units as the numerous water leaks had caused a bit of a problem. Just needs some lounge/dinette seating to finish off the furniture side of things. Came with a new cooker and fridge which was a bit of a bonus. Wiring needs a little update but nothing too difficult. It's in Bosworth marina for now but will be coming north at some point. We've had our name on the list where you are for about 2 years . Maybe neighbours one day.
