Sheikh Hamdan (فزاع Fazza) Al Ula, Medain Saleh (Hegra) Saudi Arabia(1 February, 2019)

#MedainSaleh (Arabic: مدائن صالح‎, madāʼin Ṣāliḥ, "Cities of Saleh"), also called "Al-Hijr" or "Hegra", is an archaeological site located in the Sector of Al`Ula within Al Madinah Region, the Hejaz, Saudi Arabia. A majority of the remains date from the Nabatean kingdom (1st century CE). The site constitutes the kingdom's southernmost and largest settlement after Petra, its capital. Traces of Lihyanite and Roman occupation before and after the Nabatean rule, respectively, can also be found.
In 2008, UNESCO proclaimed Mada'in Saleh as a site of patrimony, becoming Saudi Arabia's first World Heritage Site. It was chosen for its well-preserved remains from late antiquity, especially the 131 rock-cut monumental tombs, with their elaborately ornamented façades, of the Nabatean kingdom.

Prince Hamdan, Truly, Medain Saleh is an amazing archaelogical site and did remind me of Petra in Jordan. The monumental tombs must have been magnificent in their glory days because they are amazing to the eyes now. I enjoy history---so,archaeology is of interest to me,especially ancient artifacts and their preservation. @faz3 @halmaktoum

There were priests who offered prayers to Gods and sung hymns in their praise. Animal and tree worship was also in vogue. Death was still a mystery for the early nan. He believed that after death,man is born again?)' That is why,they buried all the necessities of travel and survival, such as pottery,tools,weapons,etc. along with the deceased.❤❤❤❤❤

Interesting city also called Al-Hijr in Saudí Arabia. It has been a World Heritage Site since 2008 for The Unesco. And it is the first city in Saudí Arabia to have it. I love the history of those places full of mystery and charm. Nice vídeo.

How beautiful these royal buildings are. Although Petra is better known, but Al Ula is "somehow" more mysterious to me, "warmer", more attractive .. The stars are more beautiful to see .🙂.. @Fazza..fyi..prophet Saleh in Central Java (Indonesia), Tsamud is Sam + kaum Prophet Hud. Madyan ( Meidan, Medium) is Cental. Sam (Syam) = Saba = QS 34:15. Pls come to Java, there are Land of prophets =Al Quran, Injil & Taurat.
