There are similarities between Islam and Judaism. I used to attend Shabbat at a Synagogue in London. I’ve also visited mosques. I can confirm that in the Synagogue, attendees are supposed to wash their hands before entering similar to muslims ablution. During Shabbat the Torah is read as if the reader is singing. Similar to the reading of the Quran. Touching of the Torah (written on scrolls and carried on shoulder) by women is forbidden. However, women can only touch and read book versions of the Torah. Men and women sit separately in the Synagogue similar to what happens in a mosque.
