Sheikh Zayed Festival 2024-25 | Al Wathba Abu Dhabi | A Grand Celebration of Culture and Heritage

Under the patronage of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the much-anticipated Sheikh Zayed Festival 2024-2025 will take place in Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi, from 1st November 2024 to 28th February 2025. Celebrating the UAE's heritage, the festival returns with the theme "Hayakum" (Arabic for Welcome), introducing an array of new events, designs, and activities to delight visitors. Organized under the supervision of Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, the festival aims to provide a globally inspired cultural and entertainment experience, reinforcing the UAE’s commitment to preserving heritage while embracing modernity.
This year's festival promises an expanded lineup with over 6,000 international cultural events, more than 1,000 major public shows, and participation from over 30,000 exhibitors and representatives from 27 countries. For the first time, the festival will feature weekly themed celebrations, offering unique experiences that blend global and local cultures. Highlights include the Union Parade, National Day celebrations, fireworks, laser shows, and artistic performances, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere for millions of expected visitors.
The festival's heritage village, a central feature, will host activities reflecting the UAE's traditional environments-mountainous, agricultural, marine, and desert. Visitors can explore authentic Emirati crafts, traditional markets, and cultural performances while enjoying Emirati cuisine at the Al Kheimah restaurant. International pavilions will offer insight into global traditions, with new participants adding diversity to the cultural exchange. The festival also includes specialized zones like the "Rare Species Reserve," the Al Wathba Floating Market, and a theme park with VR-enhanced rides and a thrilling Haunted House.
Special events will celebrate global occasions, including New Year’s festivities, featuring world-class fireworks, drone displays, and musical fountain performances. Notable competitions, such as camel racing, falconry, and agricultural excellence awards, will showcase Emirati traditions. For families and children, the festival offers an array of interactive activities, including the "Skills" programme and an enhanced children's area with live events and skill-building workshops.
The Sheikh Zayed Festival remains a cornerstone of Abu Dhabi's cultural calendar, providing visitors with immersive experiences that celebrate the UAE's heritage while fostering cross-cultural appreciation. With its enhanced programming and new additions, the festival ensures memorable moments for all attendees, highlighting the UAE’s spirit of unity and innovation.

How to reach Sheikh Zayed Festival ?
Reaching Sheikh Zayed Festival in Abu Dhabi is simple with ITC's Bus Route 408. Starting from the main bus station, it stops at Rabdan Mall and Baniyas Court. The bus fare is just 3 AED.
Bus Schedule:
Weekdays: 3 PM-10 PM (every 20 mins); return trips 4:30 PM-12 AM.
Weekends & Holidays: Extended service until 1:10 AM.
