Welcome to Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, UAE's largest and most elegant decorated mosque, which attracts more than 4 million visitors each year.
In 2018 the beautiful Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque was ranked as the world's third favorite landmark surpassing the Taj Mahal and St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican.
The mosque is estimated to have a cost of around $545 million. It took over 12 years to complete. It can hold up to 40,000 worshipers, and it currently holds three Guinness Records of the biggest chandelier, largest handwoven carpet, and largest dome of its kind in the world.
The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque was named after UAE's first president.
As a visitor,few things for you to keep in mind when visiting Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque:
There is no entrance fee,
Plan at least 2 to 3 hours to explore all areas, enjoy its beauty and take pictures.
Please be respectful, don’t be loud, cover yourself properly, Women will be required to cover their heads with a scarfs or abaya,both are provided at the entrance.
