I feel very happy that Africa is responding so positively to this lecture on this supremely important subject. My critics cannot find anything with which to respond to the lecture other than to accuse me of being arrogant. My response to their false accusation is that Allah Most High takes away knowledge from those who are arrogant. There are those who have ears, and yet cannot hear. I emphasized in this lecture that it was not really Nabi Musa ('alaihi al-Salaam) who was arrogantly claiming to be the most learned person in the world. Rather, I repeatedly said that the Surah was pointing, instead, to his Israelite people. It is they who arrogantly claim to be the most learned in the world. @@SheikhImranHosein I think I understand why Khidr A.S. killed the boy. If you beat them up because e.g. they've become too stubborn (which really isn't the child's fault for being heedless/not knowing of the forces of evil), they either rebel as adults or have their self-esteem diminished so their critical faculties switch off thus they can't advise you if necessary (as even parents can make MAJOR errors; they're humans too at the end of the day). If you leave them rotting on the path set up by the forces of evil (i.e. they get spoiled with game consoles etc.), they become your masters or mistresses. You can't win - it's either not having children, striving against evil/striving to eliminate contact with evil before it consumes you and your children, or finishing the child off. www.quranicpath.com/misconceptions/more_children.html

I want to ask about the Ayn Al Hayat(The spring of life) at the junction of the 2 seas and What's the significance of carrying a dead fish that comes to life when the water from the spring falls on it? Secondly twice it's mentioned that the fish took a strange way into the sea... nothing in the Quran is by accident...can you tell us pls what's the significance of the "strange" path of the fish? Individuals can offer only partial and limited explanations (Tafasir) of verses of the Qur'an. I believe that the explanation of the entire miraculous Qur'an is beyond the capacity of any single scholar. I would be no more than a schoolboy if I were to ever attempt to explain the whole Qur'an. INH

SERUOUSLY!! I hate when people recite the Quraan in this manner. Just became AbdulBaset AbduSamad recited like that DOES not mean every person can do so. Furthermore, Why can't people recite the Quraan in a way that is nkt exaggerated or makes ypu feel like his going to pop a blood vessel. BY Allaah, I dont like it one bit because it makes me so uncomfortable to hear a labored and exhausted way of reading out the Quraan. Just take middle path and recite it ina comfortable manner. the sheikh is a teacher, and he is teaching in his own style. Arrogance is not a word I would use in the same sentence with his name. After all, we have been having a lot of humble teachers but mostly conventional. The Quran is alive, with ample explanation for everything, yet we are stuck to the period of the past scholars and Imams in as far as interpretation is concerned. When the sheikh speaks angrily, can we blame him?
