I got the chance to ride SheiKra in its first year. It is far better floorless. However what sets this one apart is the splashdown. You can stand near it and get an amazing shower to cool off at that hot park!!! Griffon splashes down away from the crowd instead of towards it
@triple7marc5 жыл бұрын
Griffon’s splashdown is also kinda far away from the midway. SheiKra’s splashdown is ON the midway.

"This ride has 2 loading stations!" Yeah, except on a day like Monday where they're super greedy and only load ONE train with the sorry excuse that it's "a slow day, and it will reduce cost." The line was SUPER long for that dumb reason alone, getting to 90 minutes. Literally makes no sense, but besides that I love Sheikra. Always ride it at least twice every time I go.

We were surprised on how smooth it was. I haven’t been on Griffon or Valravn (or any of the other dive coasters out there,) so I can’t say anything about them.

You want an intense Dive Coaster Taylor? You're on your way, Oblivion at Alton Towers has a 20 ft shorter drop than Sheikra, yet is more powerful than any moment on Sheikra. That pull-up before the turn into the breaks is really forceful, and it happens underground, as you are disoriented by the mist sprayed at riders just before the tunnel

Oblivion in my opinion is what dive coasters are meant to be. Adding inversions and multiple drops does nothing when the most thrilling and iconic part of the coaster is being held over a vertical drop and plummeting towards the ground.
@joshkirkham42817 жыл бұрын
XplosiveGamer105 I agree, oblivion is the most intense dive coaster and probably the scariest dive coaster out there, however shiekra does offer more and I prefer it to oblivion but not by much
@Oliver_T_037 жыл бұрын
I'd have to say out of the two I've ridden (Oblivion and Sheikra), Sheikra was the scarier ride. It's first drop is so much taller, ant thus more intimidating than Oblivion's drop. However, the que videos on Oblivion make it seem as if you could die on the ride. It has a really cool name and theme, and probably has the world's best tunnel, 115 ft underground, that's insane

This was my first dive coaster and honestly I can say I love it much more than Valravn, even if the latter is a bigger ride with more inversions. I rode this twice last week and it was a fun ride for sure. After riding Iron Gwazi 5 times before getting on this, I wasn’t intimidated by the hanging drop (or anything else for that matter 😄). I actually ate lunch at Zambia smokehouse right by the splashdown area. Good spot to get some video of the ride and wave at people on it as they come around towards the water. 👋🏻

I really enjoyed Shiekra. I had never ridden anything like it before, so it did wow me. I loved hanging over the edge of that first drop in the front row. The 8-wide seating arrangement would usually allow us single riders to skip ahead of groups, getting in more rides in a shorter amount of time. However, my last couple rides on it during my 2 days there, I did start to feel like this type of coaster was missing something, keeping it from being elite. I still greatly prefer a dive coaster to an invert, at least in general. Despite that, I like Montu better than Sheikra.

As someone who’s never ridden a dive coaster and has a low coaster count the idea kinda freaks me out. I’ve only ridden one vertical lift vertical drop coaster being Thunderbolt and that was kind of intimidating to me so I don’t know how I’ll take a dive coaster. It’s not the height or holding break that makes me nervous. It’s the verticalness. Going up on your back and dropping face first is a sensation I have to get used to.

Am I the only one that likes the B&M vest restraints? No matter how smooth a coaster is, I always get at least one really hard hit to my head, with any of the other OTSRs, that leaves me with a migraine.
@Oliver_T_037 жыл бұрын
I don't like them, since they can absolutely squash you when you ride The Swarm on a bad day. I actually have a method to prevent headbanging on normal OTSR's. Lean forward so your head isn't close to the inner side of the restraint. That way, your head hits nothing during the point of a coaster where headbanging would normally occur
@mjpa4207 жыл бұрын
XplosiveGamer105 I've tried that method, but I'm a bit overweight, so when I lean forward my head is sitting right in between the restraint and I get head banged more. The only thing that helps me is holding my head back and completely relaxing my body. But, I still get that 1 good head bang at some point. Usually happens at the end of a ride, like on Raptor at Cedar Point, the final turn into the brake run gets me every time.
@mjpa4207 жыл бұрын
I'll take being pinned over a migraine.
@Oliver_T_037 жыл бұрын
That's a shame man, the method I suggested really does help. That must suck to get a migraine after every B&M. My sister rode Kumba before she started leaning forward, and her head got obliterated. She never rode it again, whilst I had really comfortable rides on it. It became my no. 2 coaster
@mjpa4207 жыл бұрын
King's Island is my home park. I've had the pleasure of riding Banshee with its vest restraints multiple times. I do have a method of dealing with getting pinned. I make no promises that it'll work for everyone or on every coaster. For me, as soon as I have the restraint buckled, I take a few deep breaths and hold it to expand my chest. While holding my breath, I push my shoulders into the vest pushing the vest out a little bit. That little bit seems to make for a more comfortable ride for me. This method works for me on both Gatekeeper and Valravn at Cedar Point, too.
