Sheila Johnson is an excellent example to young people in America on how to become a success in life. She overcame hardship and adversity by hardwork and vision. Much admire this women! Anthony Joseph Lucchese

I am currently enjoying reading Ms. Johnson's memoir. She has lived quite an interesting life. It is so heartwarming to see a woman who was so emotionally abused by her ex-husband succeed in business and in life. Her compassion and philanthropy is admirable, and I wish it was contagious. The world would be a much better place with more people like Ms. Johnson caring for others and giving back to society. She deserves all the success she has earned, and I think her story will resonate with women who have been stuck in abusive marriages. Her love for the arts and her passion for the violin makes me sad for today's young children who may not be exposed to the arts as those programs are not valued in the public school system. I hope whoever purchases BET will extend an invitation to Ms. Johnson to serve in some type of creative compacity, because I think her voice is an important one with many ideas to offer for the continued success of the channel.

Ms.Johnson your story is the story of so many women in a marriage and in business. White women don't want to admit it,but they have lived your story in their marriages too. Thank you very much for sharing with all of us.

I wish that I could reconcile with the double standard. I don’t think that I am going to watch this one.

Implicitly the major networks were WET.

Did you not listen to her interview? The major networks and cable channels were white tv. It is well documented that MTV would not play Black artists music. You can find a YT interview where David Bowie grilled an MTV host about it and the mtv host said middle America isn’t ready to watch Black artists videos. The Johnsons created the cable station to give Black artists a platform. Why aren’t you complaining about the discrimination against Black artist? That’s the real issue.

Your ignorance about what racism is and how it works is palpable. Lean not on your own understanding and dare to seek knowledge from people who are willing to teach you the truth about it. The simple fact that you see people creating their own way because they were shut out of white spaces as racism shows you lack critical thinking skills and empathy. Do better and the world will be better.
