My 1st cat I got when my girls were young, hubby was not happy at all, he said he hated cats, for 2 years they ignored each other, 1 day she jumped up on him and he started to pet her, boom that was it, she was his from then on lol, after we lost her we got another cat, we had her for 24 years, he loved her too but she was mine, I was the only one allowed to pick her up, she did stand on the counter tops and get pets from him, and she got excited when he came home so he was good with that.
