I think when it comes to cheaper makeup, we should consider who’s losing money at the other end. I know it’s not possible for everyone to afford ethical makeup, but at what cost are we jumping to the best deal we can get our hands on? I love Manny’s videos so much, this is not a criticism of him in any way❤️

I’m not sure if I believe that there is a makeup brand out there that is 100% ethical. Some companies like Colourpop make their products in the US so you at least we know they’re not running a sweatshop however they also use ingredients like mica that for all we know could have been farmed by children. I wish there was a way we could find out where brands source their ingredients from. I’ve pretty much put any makeup buying on hold for now 😕

It’s just something I wish in general was more widely addressed and we normalized paying a little more for more transparent sourcing and business practices.
