I grew up with MG’s, my first was a 1968 man, black with red seats and black piping. My brother had an mgc with three carnbs. Later on I owned an MG-TC which I loved. Last but not least, I got a rat box MGA. I started a frame off on it and realized the front end had been damaged way too much to be fixed. I sold the car for cheap. Fast forward a few years later I ended up looking for another MGA… ended up being my cars frame with a new body! Even got all my parts back in the same baggies!😂

I had no idea these were so complex. What with the reverse switch, the "tick over adjuster", etc. Very fun.

A friend of mine used to own BKA403 back in the 60's. And he sold it to another friend of mine who painted it (by hand) with Woolworths paint! Imagine doing that to a P Type MG nowadays! Anyway, ultimately BKA403 was sold to a chap in the US. Its nice to see the car looking so good with new body. BKA403 is the car's original UK registration number, the letters KA indicating the car was first registered in Liverpool England.

Hi Phillip. I'm the current owner of BKA403 since the mid 1970s. It was brush painted when I got it and I restored it back to all original color scheme. I met most of the previous owners in 1993, including your friend who brush painted it.

@@tommetcalf5205 Hello Tom, Delighted you replied to my reply. I know two of the owners in the UK. Peter Bowlas who is a great friend of mine, indeed I see him at least once a week. He rebuilt it originally and sold it to Ken Williams in the late 60's who in a fit of originality decided Woolworth's gloss paint was the way to go lol. I own an MG TD which Peter scrutinised before purchase! Small world?

@@phillipjones3439 how cool is that!!! I met both Peter and Ken in 1993. It was all arranged by John Colley who bought the PB from a farmer's field in November 1963. Good to know you're enjoying a TD. I went a bit overboard and ended up with way too many but love them all.

@@phillipjones3439 BTW the original owner lived in Hale just outside of Liverpool, next owner, who I met lived along the Menai Straight just across from Anglesey. Beautiful location. His name was Norman Owen. Fascinating how these old cars bring people together. Be sure to tell your friends I said hello. It was many years ago now so they may not remember.

@@tommetcalf5205 Hello Tom, Oh I'm sure Pete remembers! I've sent him a link to this video, I'm sure he will leave a comment. I've lost touch with Ken sadly, he lives in Spain now the last I heard. Perhaps you could send me some recent photos? My email is gw4pjq@gmail.com
