Had a friend with a big block Cobra. Took 3 years to build it. Was much more than amazing. Had secret stuff in it no one's ever seen before. He had to sell it. Gave him headaches when he'd drive it. The new owner is still trying to figure out some of the tech in it.

I had a 63 AC Bristol, What the Cobra was made from, i got a Olds 215 cubic inch aluminum V8, with Isky cam, 4 bbl and intake, headers, in that aluminum car it was really fast. the GM 215 was their smallest v8 and was sold to British lelyland for Rover and TR8's

TerryFuckinC Not really. The A/C Ace was a British car. When Shelby turned it into the A/C Cobra, he not only put a Ford V8 in it, but also replaced almost all of the bodywork and chassis. The only 'stock' Ace parts were the doors, hood, and mirrors.

Dude by the name of George Anderson at gessfords machine in hastings nebraska bulits replica cobras using fomoco 427 big blocks, they prefer av gas to run decent, and the engines/driveline are built to shelby specs. George had a friendship with Carroll for years before he died, and George puts the same passion into his builds as Carroll did. And George doesn't part with one of these puppies for cheap by any means.

1976, Uncle had a real 427, A TERRIFYING car! I swore NEVER AGAIN! every time, but always got back in, My Uncle went to Bondurants school, good thing too, many Cobras killed their owners, My Dad had a 327 Vette 375 horse, He said was easier to drive on a tight track, but the straight aways, Those 427's were awesome, if you could keep them pointed forwards. Bill Cosby had an automatic built by Carrol Shelby, Cosby took 1 drive in it and got rid of it!

Nice but, I hate to inform you. That's not a true Shelby. #1 There is no Cobra emblem on the front or rear (EVERY Shelby has one) and 2nd, Never heard a Shelby with a turbo like whine.. Nice car though..

Just because it's supercharged doesn't make it a fake Cobra. Of course they didn't normally come supercharged, but Shelby did make a Super Snake Cobra with twin superchargers. Also, no, not every REAL Cobra had badges, lots of them didn't. But yes, guaranteed it's a kit car because anyone who owns a real Cobra hardly ever drive them, let alone leave them out in a parking lot.
