Indeed, I found that most everything was priced to move, sellers brought things to sell, not to take home.

I think you got some great deals. I have heard great things about old theater tube amps. I think RCA are sought after. Can't wait to see those in action.

Quite happy with my selections. The RCAs seem to be well regarded. I hope to get them up and going before winter gets here.

I had friends in high school in the 70s that were into ham radio and it was cool to see their world maps with all of the pins in them. I never had one but I used my grand parents 1936 Silvertone radio, and in the 60s I would spend hours tuning and listening to the shortwave band and picking up stations from around the world. I have it now and it looks great and still works pretty well. All original.

I was talking to a fella at the event, he had a few thing he was selling. He had mentioned having just recently moved to NC, so I asked if he had his rig setup yet. He said he did, but that he did not really talk much, he mostly listened. He said he leaves it on and just finds it relaxing to listen to while he does other chores, etc.. I never really thought about anyone listening to Ham the way many of us listen to music.

Darn Scott, I’m in the Triangle. I would have gone to that event had I known about it. Def figured you get that Sansui.

Mark your calendar for Labor Day 2024 and make it a destination. I have a recurring reminder so I don't forget and so the wife cannot book something else. 🙂 Yeah, that Sui was just too nice to pass up.
