She pretty much gas lit Leonard throughout their relationship. When he proposed, he was in the wrong. When she proposed and he said no, he again was in the wrong is one example of this. She’s a hypocrite, free loader. Very rarely did she do anything nice for Leonard. At least she was fit. Well other than when she cut her hair off

Penny was quite intelligent, her interests were different. Through her and Sheldons relationship you see this on multiple occasions and even Sheldon realized it. He only stated his reason for his spot once and she quotes it perfectly later, she memorized what he taught her about physics to try and relate to Leonard more, they played the flash card game where she taught him pop culture (social intelligence knowledge) he taught her science. Of the whole group these two were the further swings of the pendulum and both had the greatest effect not only on each other’s growth but on all of the members of their friend group. Thats why their friendship growth is the best in the series.

With exams keeping me so busy, I barely get to spend time with my real friends, but watching TBBT fills that void. Many would say that she was a fan fav for her witty remarks towards Sheldon, but when she began siding and supporting his bullshit, instead of her husband’s that’s when she became unlikable. One such example was in the Wolowitz feast episode, when Sheldon took credit, and at one point Penny said “didn’t he [Sheldon] do most of the work”?
