After last year's awards show, I thought I should upgrade my tux. If you've seen it, you'll understand why. The Scented Gardens book is a great companion piece to all the Vernon Joynson reference works. Maybe I should make a video where I show some of my go-to music reference books? A superb Alphonse Mouzon LP, for sure.

Fabulous video! I started listening to “Satisfaction” I do like the horn section but overall I felt it was so so. If you want to hear a much better album in the same vein listen to the first album by Chase from 1971. Wow, Sorcerer! Your best pick of the day😮

I have the 1st Chase album and enjoy it, but I still prefer Satisfaction's record. I just find it has a bit more personality.

I have to get the Andrew Gold album, I've always been intrigued with his mother (Marnie Nixon) who should be famous like his father but sadly isn't. And I've always wanted a double10". I've watched Sorcerer too because Mark Kermode always goes on about it. You look very smart but what about the bottom half?

Great LP that Satisfaction. Underated and still cheap. The Who pic is cool...67, early 68 I would say looking at their gear/hair. Grodeck Whiperjenny is a killer record, a big fave. James Brown producer of course. Check out JBs Sho Is Funky Down Here for a similar sound, when JB went slightly psychedelic. Sessions recorded a month apart from Grodeck. Cheers Nigel

The Grodeck Whipperjenny LP is on James Brown's People label, but wasn't actually produced by him: Dave Matthews and Ron Lenhoff get that credit. Gro Whip were the backing band on Brown's Sho Is Funky album, and their 2nd LP (The Secret Second Album) is that same James Brown LP reissued under their own name. I've yet to find a copy, but I'll keep looking. 1967/68 sounds about right for the Who promo. Cheers.

@@MrShelf-Stacker Yep, sorry my bad wording. I was confirming Grodeck was created by James Brown's producer, Dave Matthews, as you indicate....not created by JB. Cheers

Great video, would only be better if you had a beautiful assistant (maybe your wife/partner is camera shy 😁). I’ve never even seen a battered copy of Badfinger out in the wild, brilliant that! Nice variation on Vinyl Tag 2024. Cheers.

Sadly, although my wife indulges my hobby, she would probably (quite rightly) argue that she has better things to be getting on with. I might rope one of my kids in next time. Money talks...
