As per me in the second example (3,1) comparison was not required because (3,5) position elements were not swapped. Further, I wanted to know in case we didn't swap (4,2) then do we still require to compare (2,1)

sir at (3,5) here (30,50,) we dont need any swap but you checked for backward and at (4,6) here(80,60) needs swap you also checked for backward , these two different situation but check for backward ,i am actually confused when to check this backward,plz give replay. thank you

Not required for distance case, only insertion sort need that.

shell sort is used for those machines where there's memory shortage, it takes absolutely 0 extra space in comparison to O(1) or O(n) extra space used by other algorithms.
