As much as is made of how superior F1 technology is, Charles and Carlos seem impressed by the details of what Joey does. Especially the short practice and length of NASCAR races.
@tstuff12135 ай бұрын
Gosh man, if you ever are interested look into some of the engineering details from previous eras. Nascar used to be like F1 but more behind closed doors which fortunetly more of that is coming out now. Teams were striving for every little bit working in and out of the rules just making huge revolutionary jumps. Using ground effect and skewing the bodys and chassis like all this super neat stuff when you get into it. Nascar for safety and mainly for cost has cut alot of that out teams were spending millions and honestly more than they were making some years just to get an advantage. Nascar deemed it unsustainable and axed it. But I promise you there are still engineering things behind closed doors searching for any and all edges they can get. Most though is in secret because it might be outside the rulebook
@marklittle88055 ай бұрын
NASCAR is full of guys who are wizards at finding minute improvements that seem like nothing but add up cumulatively. Teams used to do things that would make no sense to the lay person that would allow the cars to react in the wind to settle them down. Off set bodies, skewed chassis. NASCAR is more spec now but they still look for any and all edges. The engineering challenge is different, but not less.

Some NASCAR drivers were in Vegas for the Grand Prix, but I would love to see some F1 drivers at the Daytona 500. Completely different disciplines, but seeing those cars going 190mph in a 40 car pack, 3 wide, inches from each other’s doors, pushing each other, using the air to slow the car next to you… it’s really insane. As a fan, it’s crazy to watch a pack go around a track 2.5 miles around in about 48 seconds.
