I can’t believe the amount of things I have the chance to learn in each of your videos.Really, you are incomparable ! Thank you so much! Too bad I’m not comfortable to speak english (I’m a francophone from Québec) because I would travel to Ontario to follow one of your one-day workshops!

Thank you. I’ve used Magic Eraser in the past, but realized from your instructions how I can be much more effective with this technique. I overwork and try to fix everything, but will reconsider leaving some mistakes alone now. Didn’t know sizing can be bought! Very helpful suggestions.

I have found it very helpful (sizing). Retaining the freshness by not fixing can often be the best solution. :)

Hi Shelley. I’ve only recently discovered your channel and am thrilled to have found you 😀 I’m wondering if you would consider doing a tutorial on painting still water with reflections? I’ve been painting for a couple of years, but I’m still really struggling with painting water.

A good thing to use to burnish down the raised fibers on watercolor paper is the back of a metal teaspoon, like stainless steel which is so smooth.

Thanks and yes a spoon works great. I recommend placing a piece of paper under the spoon though as the metal in certain types of spoons can leave a dirty stain that is permanent (ask how I know lol).

I know what you are saying! I’m guilty ! Especially if the piece is for a gift, you need to just start over

I haven't tried this, but have seen it demonstrated. I'd have to try it out to be sure it wouldn't ruin the paper. However, it may work. When you want to use the magic eraser technique on a specific shape that is not all straight edges, use some packing tape instead of over the spot making tape around it. The packing tape is good because it is wide and see-through. Put it over the hole area and then use an Exacto-knife to very carefully cut just the tape layer around the shape, and then peal it off the tape from the shape, and use Shelley's excellent method, as shown for the sail. Thanks for the great demo! Also, in another demo by Shelley, she used a large metal serving spoon to smooth the paper, not finger nails. I would prefer that.. I hope I haven't made any major spelling mistakes. I eyes are tearing up and I can barely see my typing.

I didn’t see you use the eradication brush. That has been my best correction tool. Do you use that??
