Shelling in Sanibel and Keewaydin Florida

This video is about Shelling for seashells in Florida specifically Sanibel Island and Keewaydin Island and Lover's Key in Fort Meyers beach. We spent 4 days shelling the beautiful beaches. I did a little saltwater fishing for sharks but no bites. I included some drone aerial footage also.

I was at Keeywaden Island this past Monday, Dec 16, 2024. Shelled on the gulf side only. My first trip there. The best shelling in terms of quality and quantity. We took the 11-3 tour. I have a scoop like yours that I use for shark teeth hunting. I should have used that one instead of the round stick one your wife was using. The surf was a little rougher that day. I found 4 alphabet cones, 2 Florida cones, several shark eyes, too many calico scallops, Florida fighting conchs of different sizes, worm snails, apple murex, spiny jewel boxes, many lightning whelks, a few tulips and a couple of true tulips, some quohogs, some cockles, giant and small ones, calico clams, a couple of sand dollars etc. Not bad for 3 hrs of shelling. Plan to go back to found my junonias :) I walked all the way down the gulf side of the beach and back. I barely made the Hemingway shuttle back in time. Enjoyed your KI section of your video especially...I want to go back to finish where I left off.

Thanks for watching and commenting, sounds like you had a great trip! And we found tons of calico scallops just like you. I like the scoop I was using because I have a bad back and can't bend over all day long. The fighting conchs are awesome!

If the white cat inch you found is rather translucent when held up to.the light it is an albino which is very rare!!
