how come 2>&1 redirects the input of victime machine to attacker machine , doest 2 means error file descriptor

Thanks for your video. Learnt in details why Shellshock works now. Just a follow-up question -- If the cgi is a binary instead of a shell script, will it still work? It seems like it wouldn't because no bash is ran?
