OCT 25, 2022: Fifi gave birth to four beautiful kittens today! Three tiny girls, and one tiny boy. All four have perfect palates and appear to be healthy. Mama did great, and we are thrilled this is the last time she will ever have to go through pregnancy and labor.
Kitten weight chart: bit.ly/3TTXNW4
OCT 18, 2022: We have a new catermelon and are officially on #KittenWatch!! Rescue kitty Fifi had a family who loved her very much. When they had to move out of the country, they gave her to a friend, who then had to move and wasn't able to find pet-friendly housing. This is a HUGE problem in our area. They didn't know she was pregnant when they got her, but wanted to make sure she ended up somewhere safe when they weren't able to keep her.
We are expecting 4 (or possibly 5) kittens to arrive in a week or so, although it could really happen at any time! Fifi is delightfully sweet, around a year old, and this is not her first litter of kittens. Thankfully, it will be her last. She and her kittens will all be spayed/neutered and adopted into loving homes.

Donate to help Fifi and her family: TinyKittens.co...
We broadcast the stories of our rescued cats, live and uncensored, to raise awareness about the realities of cat overpopulation in a way that inspires compassion.
Candy's story is all too familiar. She was feral and pregnant when she was trapped from a ravine. She's one of the luck ones, because she will have all the medical care, comfort and love she needs. She won't have to go hunt for food or protect her babies from predators. She and her kittens will all be spayed and neutered.
If we hadn't been able to trap her, she would have gotten pregnant over and over again until her body gave out. She would have watched 75% of her babies die from disease, predators, injury or starvation.
Fortunately, it's easy to help cats like Candy, and prevent all of that suffering! Become advocates for Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), spaying and neutering... and COMPASSION.
Each cat has a story to tell, each life matters, and the more we tell their stories, the more compassion we will generate.
We hope you enjoy watching Candy give birth for the last time ever, followed by many weeks of adorable shenanigans as she raises her final litter of kittens. It's fun, educational, therapeutic, and we have an awesome global community chatting 24/7.
If you would like to donate toward Candy and her kittens' care, you may do so with our extreme gratitude at TinyKittens.com/donate 💕

JUL 23 2022: Feral catermelon Candy is going to give birth any time now, assisted by her doula / alleged babydaddy, Cookie. Cookie has already been neutered, and mama and kittens will all be spayed/neutered. We show the "miracle of birth" live to help people understand why it's so important to spay and neuter.

I'm not sure why you need to weigh the kittens every single moment. Or should I say daily. I have had cats that have had kittens and we were always told not to touch the kittens because the mother could turn them away and not only that it's not good to be continuously pick up baby kittens only a couple days old just leave it to the mother she knows how to take care of them it's not important for you to weigh them I'm sure they would be fine if you leave them alone. I can tell the mother is really concerned every time you pick up a kitten and put it on a scale she's trying to eat her food and yet she's trying to keep an eye on the cat and that's very stressful for that mother. Another thing I don't like is when people try to get likes on KZbin by doing things like this they put an animal at risk or they put a child at risk or they put themselves at risk just to get likes and I really don't like that I know you got a lot of fluffy comments but mine's is probably not one of them.

The poor mother cat is tolerating you she really does not want you touching the kittens it's very annoying to her I can tell. Apparently you have nothing else to do, you should try to put your focus somewhere else and leave the kittens alone for the mother to care for keeping an eye every now and then make sure things are okay and they haven't moved is one thing but you continuously are touching them I sense you have something in your life missing! I'm not trying to be mean but I know about , dogs they're all the same they all take care of their own us humans can't seem to keep our faces out of theirs. Animals are much smarter than we are!

@@lindylou9792 you sound like you are new to this channel. Don't worry, they really are very good at taking care of both the mamas and the babies at TinyKittens, and don't handle the kittens "just for likes" but to keep them safe. If you watch for a longer time, you will find out that this shelter often cares for abandoned or feral mom-cats who have health risks for themselves and their kittens. Weighing the kittens regularly means the shelter notices it immediately if a kitten loses weight, which often is the first sign of an underlying health problem, anything from mama not producing enough milk, maybe from an internal infection or illness, to the baby having a cleft palate or a malfunctioning stomach-entry valve, or fading kitten syndrome. When a kitten loses weight they are watched very carefully, and weighed regularly several times daily instead of once a day to see if it was just a one-time dip or if there is something going on that means they need help. They have saved many kitten lives by paying attention to this, so they can get vet attention for a kitten before they fade or starve to death. They work with a vet clinic to help figure out what causes the fading kitten syndrome - they've figured out that a mismatch between the blood types of mamacat and kittens plays an important role, and is much more common than the vet textbooks thought, at least in their area of Canada. They have saved several litters from dying because of blood-typing the mama before birth, and then if mama is type B, bloodtyping the kittens as soon as they are born. It's also clear that though the mamacat keeps an eye on her babies, she is not stressed by the interaction - she keeps eating, she doesn't hiss or swat at the human. She even lies down, showing she is quite relaxed, while the human is handling her babies. A stressed cat will feed the kittens while she is sitting up, keeping an eye on the unwanted intrusion. Lying down on her side in this way, purring and closing her eyes - she is clearly relaxed, not stressed. Telling children not to handle any semi-feral baby kittens they find, so as not to stress them or their mama is sensible, and good advice. The mamacat could scratch or bite a child who did that; or if she is a feral living outside it might scare her off. But that is very different from the situation in this shelter, where they take good care of the mamacats and babies. Even really feral mamacats, who need to hide their heads under a towel so as not to be scared by a human helping them or their kittens, have never abandoned their kitten for smelling of human hands, that I have seen in years of watching this channel. They just give them a thorough washing afterwards.

Sorry but I think this lady does not know what she's doing. I've had a cat before it has had kittens and they need to have the privacy to take care of their kittens. this lady is handling the kittens too much, you shouldn't handle them at all! I don't think the mother has milk and her fur is too thick so the mother most likely is not providing anything for those kittens to eat while this woman is focusing on handling them so much they going to get sick and die. Everyone that is saying how cute they are yes they're cute the mother's beautiful but that's not going to resolve the problem this woman obviously doesn't know what to do and doesn't know enough to take them to the vet and have that mothers for a trimmed and find out if the mother is producing milk. I think more and more people should start encouraging her to do such a thing is take them to the vet otherwise I think these kittens aren't going to make it.

@@lindylou9792 , Shelly is very , very experienced with cats and kittens. The kittens are gaining weight, and Shelly notes that they are filled out nicely, so they are getting enough milk. She is weighing them to make sure that they are gaining weight. I noticed that she was comparing their weight from the morning weight. If there was even the slightest inclination that the kittens needed a vet, a vet would be called in. That is standard practice with this organization. I understand your reluctance to handling kittens, and letting the mothers do everything. Mostly I agree with that. The thing is though, you can lose kittens very quickly. This organization does not want to risk losing any kittens. These mothers are cats that have been trapped. They are likely not in optimal health when they first come in, so extra care is given to the new mothers and kittens. I would recommend watching videos from this channel, and learning about them. I feel they are doing great work, they get the cats that no one wants and they rehabilitate them so they can go to forever homes. They have a veterinarian that works very closely with them. Actually they may even have more now. They do good work.

Okay I'm not sure why you don't take these kittens to the vet before they starve to death or become sick from you picking them up over and over again! To be honest with you they look like they are in need of seeing a vet along with the mother cat! if you are not a vet you should not be doing what you're doing. I wouldn't doubt if one or all these kittens don't make it, it will not be a surprise! Continuously handling these kittens and being around on top of them practically moving them about handling them is actually making them sick, not sure if you understand that! I find it very annoying! I can't imagine what the mother cat is thinking? She is probably equally annoyed with you fussing over her kittens! I think the collars around their necks are not important right now and is not a good idea either. it's not important that you know which is which right now it's more important that the mother has a privacy to take care of her kittens. if the mother's fur is covering the nipples where the kittens should be getting milk then take her to the vet let the vet handle it, they are professionals you're not! You're so wrapped up in this a little bit too much I think. you also have the kittens up high not sure why that is, what if one rolls off at night while you're sleeping and can't get to its mother. It's like you're setting everything up so overly involved and this mother is not having the chance to be a mother cat to her kittens. I don't know if anyone else out there is seeing this or am I the only one? but I have some common sense and I don't like to fluff things up and say oh so cute and this and that when in reality things don't look so good! Of course kittens are cute of course the mother is beautiful but that's it leave them alone! I think you're doing a disservice to these animals, I really do! You don't know how frustrating it is to see you so preoccupied as if you have absolutely nothing else to occupy your life with! I think you need to take your focus off of these cats and do something with your life! I sense you have some loss or something missing in your life and these kittens and mother cat have taken up that space. I'm sorry to sound so stern, but in reality this is how I see it. Please take these kittens to a vet before you start losing them stop weighing them and picking them up you're making them sick and let the mother do her thing, being a mother! I noticed when you were trying to weigh them the mother was trying to eat but she couldn't take her eyes off of you doing the weighing of the kittens! That was very stressful for her and stress is going to be carried over to those kittens sadly! Eventually they will not eat if they get anything at all right now and die! Is that what you're looking for I hope not! Focus on getting them to a vet, the mother too especially! If she's young she might not be producing any milk or barely any milk those kittens will starve to death waiting while you show them off on this KZbin channel. Do the Right Thing take care of them by taking them to the vet! The mother may be too young to produce milk.
