I have noticed the MV88+ does not have the range that the MV88 does. Gains set the same and the 88 is much louder than the MV88+. The difference in audio quality is slight IMHO, but the edge goes to the 88+. Just not sure how much of a factor the range will be. I am torn between the two. The convenience of simple plug and play vs having to make sure you have your mount with your for the 88+

I have the MV88 and I don't think the video kit is an upgrade from it. They were designed for different purposes. The MV88 is mobile and very practical, I use it to record gigs with my band and I used it last year at Formula 1 race. The Video kit is more suitable for KZbin recording, thus the stand.

I stopped using the bag cause it was a pain and got a small hard case that fits the tripod. Way easier! It’s also great for using on the road on my laptop in a pinch if needed. Upgrade was worth it to me!

Nice job on the Motiv's overview! I was on the fence about the + kit, but the original 88 is the way to go in terms of minimal compact hardware along with the Manfrotto combo ($25!). As you mentioned, the + headphone input is awesome... but the steep price tag, not so awesome.
@ER_aka_RAM5 жыл бұрын
Shelly Saves the Day Unfortunately (not that it’s a bad choice), I’d have to go with the + because I’ll mount it onto a Freefly Movi, which also has a high priced sleeve to mount mics/flashes on the grip! Pandoras Box I tell ya ...but a slick, relatively compact, setup f’sure 🤘🏽

Hello! I’m trying to find a mic I can use with my iPhone that can be used at a distance of 10-15 feet for interviews with multiple people. Can you advise if either of these mics would work? I also have a tripod that I use for the iPhone and I’m wondering if the MV88+ additions would render it unusable
@ShellySavesTheDay2 жыл бұрын
I would go with wireless lav mics with two receivers like the rode wireless go 2 or the DJI wireless mics.

Hi Shelly, this is super helpful, as I am looking to get an external mic for the first time for a new iPhone 11 Pro Max. Most of the time I will be shooting a video of a speaker in a classroom, and may be 20 feet or so away from the speaker. Will this still pick up the audio? If not, is there a better alternative (e.g., a blue tooth lavalier that would work with this phone? Also, can I put this on a taller tripod instead of the short one that comes in the kit? Thank you! I have subscribed to your channel for more good intel. Deb

I also downloaded both the MOTIV Audio and the MOTIVE Video apps. yes the mic has a microphone jack, that I didi plug my ear buds into...but I cannot hear back the video that I just recorded..how does one hear back through the ear buds plugged into the mic and #2 yes in MOTIV Audio it has presets...but I do not see these audio presets in the MOTIV VIDEO App...SOOO....when I record in the MOTIV VIDEO App........supposedly the audio presets, that I set in the MOTIV Audio App.......stay in in place when recording in the. MOTIV Video App....How do I know if this IS happening and then why is the sound different to my trained ear between recording in the. Motif Audi App and the motif Video App...Help!! None of the online video postings have provided the answers...thanks Shelly for Saving the Day!!!! best, Don

Is there a way to charge your phone at the same time you're using the MV88+? There doesn't seem to be any way to do this with the MV88. I've watched SO many videos on these microphones and I can't find a single one where anyone talks about this issue! I'm doing long musical livestreams and it's a real issue when my phone battery gets low and starts to affect my livestream! I need to be able to charge my iPhone at the same time I'm using the microphone. Please help!

Great comparison! Have you tried the Rode VideoMic Me? I have the VideoMic GO (the old version so it's essentially the same as the Mic Me, only it goes on a hotshoe instead of clipping to the phone). It works well for me... when I remember to turn the volume on my camera to an appropriate level! haha I sing too, so when I vlog I need to set the camera/mic level to be hotter than when I sing (I'm a loud singer). Anyway!! Just wondering the difference between the Rode and the Sure!

Hi! Will the MV88 work well for Facebook Live or KZbin Live?
@gabrielmccann19744 жыл бұрын
It's supposed to be used on flight mode due to feedback that can come when the phone signal is on. So it not ideal for Facebook live. Rode has one similar that I believe can be used for Facebook live and it won't give a feedback sound.

Hi Shelly,Great video. Question: I don't use my phone a tone for filming, sometimes. But, do either of these mics work on a PC or Mac to do a podcast? Or have you made a video of a mic that you could recommend to use for a podcast using a Mac.I've checked out a few mics and they say all the same information, great sound and great for using doing a podcast. Yeah, so convincing. Thank you Sergio
