I've heard so many stories about owners who were away from home when the fires broke out. Some tried to return home to save their animals but were prevented from doing so by law enforcement agencies enforcing evacuation orders. This is so tragic for the pets and for their humans. Thank you to all the animal welfare organizations who have stepped up to address the needs of animals and humans impacted by the fires.

No need for mean comments when there is already so much pain and suffering! You obviously do not understand the situation. The fires happened so quickly and spread so rapidly, that many owners barely escaped with only the clothes on their backs and didn't have time to or were unable to capture their pets as they evacuated. Some people were away from home when the fires broke out and were actually prevented by law enforcement evacuation orders from returning when they tried to save their pets.
