If you have watched the tamil remake of this film you'll know what a beautiful job shahid has done. The actor in the tamil remake did such a shitty job of portraying a guy who transforms from a serious and heartbroken introverted guy to such a free spirit. I actually only realized shahid's worth only then lol

Yet, in spite of all her sacrifices, when her child has to be married; she let's go, no matter her insecurities of her old age... Because only true love will want others to be happy... If someone wished to leave, one does not need to break... If they do, then it's their insecurities that holds them back... There is some sort of need in the relationship above love; there is ego... Where there is ego, there is no love; the real reason the relationship falls apart in the first place... If one realized this, I don't think one can break if someone left... There are emotional turmoil, but one continues to go on with life for the sake of those who depend on them in their families... That's true love... True love exists in every relationship from friends to families.... Being obsessed or possessive only makes matters worse for the future.... The only difference of mother and wife is the physical intimacy, if that makes one obsessed, it's called lust, not love... Better to let go...

I guess it was really unexpected that Geet didn't call Aditya at all - it was like a complete 180 for her usual behaviour but she refused to ask for help and decided to face the consequences on her own. I mean, I know she could have called her family to let them know she was okay( that part was a little sketchy) but the shock she experienced really made her tough and I know it's not that overtly acknowledged in the film, but this was a drastic yet realistic character development.

Geet was unsure why he wanted to help her and doubted whether he had any ulterior motive of trying his luck with her since he thought she is vulnerable and easy in her weak moment. That is why she made it clear though she is facing her lowest times she is not a weak person so there is no way he can manipulate her or take advantage of her. Aditya very calmly conveyed he understands that and will keep that in his mind and still was adamant to help her. She went with him only when she realized what she meant to him and how he wanted to be there for her because he felt indebted.

@ you have got it all wrong. Geet had very closely interacted with Aditya in the first half of the film to the extent of even hitting on him despite talking of Anshuman. She also wasted the time of that sardar guy who came to see her. So, if there's not question of any suspicion of ulterior motive. Geet suffered the consequences of her own vacillations & immature mind in the name of being free spirited. Even when she missed the train she was blaming Aditya who was just an unknown co-passenger on the train who decided to get off at a particular station. Pls watch the film again.
