Her own successful business, her own crib, could travel, no kids, and she did not care what ppl thought about her and her own unique sense of style. This is what you all don't realize, (even I had to think about it) This was a young kid in his 20's, who played 11 characters,...IN A TELEVISION SHOW. And a sitcom no less. The the mere thought of it is "crazy" and nerve racking. He (Martin) said he didn't know how it was gonna turn out. But I say, he pulled it off better than anyone could have. Which is why it had never been done before or since. Nobody would ever dare try anything that daring.. AND it was his first starring role in a show. Fresh off the stage. Stand-up comedian, and then star. This is what happens when you have real talent, and you go after your destiny. You have to love doing it. It hasn't been perfect nor is he, but at the end of the day Martin Lawrence is a real entertainer.

Not in a sitcom. Eddie had only done this similar kind of thing in "Coming to America", in '88, before "Martin" came out in '93. Yes "Norbit", "Nutty Professor", "Vampire in Brooklyn", "Nutty Professor 2 The Klumps" would come out later. But here's the thing, Martin had to do it without all of the movie magic, on a limited budget, and in front of a live studio audience, in the 90's where technology wasn't as it is today, AND for 5 years straight. Now, this is not to say who's better but it just stood out to me how impressive it was to get this fabulous show done. He's a worker. Can't deny it.

But don't try to downplay Eddie's comedic talent as if he possessed no talent without the help of cinematography and the magic of Hollywood. You must don't know that Eddie was also his early 20's while expressing his talent through a variety of characters on SNL in the early 80's.

But various people (much like you) keep bringing up Eddie in a Martin Video. I love Eddie's work too, and I'm sure there is a video out there with Eddie's work in it with my comment under it that says that. But you're really creating a problem where there doesn't need to be one. I'm tryna tell people that Martin (who may bit be my All Time Favorite Comedian) is a Hollywood legend among others who have not...but soon will...get there honor for doing things that truly show what entertainment is all bout. Now can I just say that with you all trying to cut down Martin with talk of Eddie or Flip Wilson, or Tyler Perry, or who ever the hell else? Can you just say..."Oh wow, that is so right" and move on?
