I guess Yu Suzuki couldn't defeat the samurai to reclaim the story scrolls and just winged it for Shenmue III. (I haven't played Shenmue, I just know that the latest game disappointed the fans).

What I always like most in these projects is to show things that wheren't explored at the console's life cycle, like Doom 64 DC which finally show us how amazing the Power VR was on Dreamcast.

I remember my mind being blown finding out Shenmue started off on the Saturn after unlocking the vid in Shenmue 2. Would it have changed things for the Saturn if Shenmue came out on it? Nah probably not but shit would have been dope. And I like my shit dope.

I still don't have a Dreamcast, so I'm excited to try both versions out when I finally get around to picking them up. Hopefully Frogbull is able to complete more projects this year, seems like he's already working on 4 or 5 if he's making progress on the ones he's demo'd so far

@@dragonsofsaturn7391 when it comes to Frogbull’s work mate, I prefer to see them as tech demos or proof of concept … I don’t think he’ll ever actually port any of his demos in full, and that’s not a slight on Frogbull … but he’s only one guy, it would be an insane amount of work to complete one of these games alone never mind all of them. So yeah, I just see these projects of Frogbull as proof of concept, very cool demos that show that hey, they were wrong in the 90’s … the Saturn *could* have done MGS or FF7. 😂

@@SEGAGuys Sure, absolutely. I couldn't agree with you more on the things he does as being excellent tech demos. That doesn't mean the games will never be completed. I will never play Crash Bandicoot on the PSX. You give me a Saturn version, and it will be on my hardware as fast as I can get it there. Demos and proof of concepts mean that someone might actually pick one of these games, sit down with some folks from the community, and build one in full. What he gives us is hope. And I really appreciate it, as I'm sure you do as well, from what I've seen of your enjoyment of the system.

Just shows how impossible Shenmue would have been on Saturn. Any 3D console in the 90s could have run the 5-10 fps beta cutscene, Sega made for Shenmue Saturn - thank God they switched to Dreamcast.

Shenmue started on the Saturn then later development moved to the Dreamcast. There's a video of segas prototype showing off what could have been if Sega didn't seriously drop the ball during the 32 bit era. It's cool to see that more fleshed out. It wouldn't be a downgrade in that sense. Also, there are hundreds of impressive fan projects happening all the time. Why get worked up over just one?

This guy should make KUNG FU MASTER. 2 arcade , MAGICIAN LORD 2 neogeopocket, XYDONIA. pc and BUSHIDEN pc, those are 4 GREAT unfinished games that the community must finish !!!!!!!!!!!!
