People like you are never satisfied, you will complain if the game has the best graphics but no content but you will also complain when the game has okay graphics and lots of content, Shenmue 3 is an open world game with a $10.5 million budget, GTA 5 had a budget of $265 million and GTA 5 was released in 2013.

Shenmue1 takes place in Japan(yokosuka), Shenmue 2 in Hong Kong/Kowloon/Guilin(china), and Shenmue 3 in Guilin China as well.

Yes, animations and NPC faces are not up to 2019 standards, but one has to take into consideration that is a open world game made with probably around 1/8 of the budget games of this era require. And at the end of the day, it doesn't matter, it is a miracle and a blessing to have this game made. This is a labour of love by one of the greatest game developers of all time.

@@NormanReaddis Actually i prefer the combat in Shenmue 2 over the Yakuza series combat. because if you know what you are doing you feel really skilled.. in Yakuza all it needs is "Square square square triangle tirangle triangle".. its just more fun to execute the moves in Shenmue and level them up. in Yakuza they look more flashy and cool and you dont have to do much to make something "cool".. but heatactions get boring after then 5th time and fights also getting dull after the 400th random encounter. in shenmue, fights always feel special.
