Homestly, the limitations (and capabilities) of sixth gen on DC is what makes Shenmue I so special. There is a melancholic beauty to Sakuragaoka, Yamanose, Dobuita as portrayed in the original 1998 version that just evaporates when rendered in current day engines. That said, what a beautiful video!

this is a limited fan made representation if am2 art design was carried forward in a modern engine with animations to match it would be the same but enhanced.

Mr.Francois this is truly an excellent achievement in realism for Shenmue. The detail in the trees feels vibrant and alive. When Ryo walks up to the Coke machine the dirt on it looks outstanding I would 100% drink from it. I like to make a request to see an updated video with Ryo walking while it is raining hard with thunder wind blowing the trees too.

So beautiful! Something weird about Ryo’s walk cycle, but other than that it’s perfect. I really wish SEGA/AM2/Yu Suzuki would get together and instead of just making Shenmue 4, do a high quality remake of the entire story so far plus the new chapter. Sadly, I don’t think that will ever happen 😢

I think because it ports Ryo's walk cycle the uncanny stiff walk cycle is much easier to see. I actually think it's a nice touch, though admittedly weird

Bonjour. Le jeu se passe à Dobuita dans Yokosuka. Tu etait a Shibuya en vacances ou tu parle du jeu? Dans les deux cas je vois très bien ce que t’a dû ressentir. On l’aura plus ce truc dans les jeux aujourd’hui 👍

@@bloodcrips24 non non en France dans le jeu ^^ Et comme ça date , je me demande si pas jouez à shenmue en décembre, du coup synchro avec le calendrier du jeu et le réel. Et du coup j’ai du jouer en hiver . Et voir la neige tomber dans le jeu , avec cette musique , franchement j’ai lâché la manette et j’ai bloqué ^^

The Dragon and Phoenix collection is an unofficial remake currently in development. Expect it to be years out from release though.

Chapeau bas. Les animations (le personnage de Ryo en particulier) sont rigides, autrement c'est génial. Les graphismes sont très travaillés dans leur réalisme (mention spéciale pour la végétation). C'est le remake que Sega aurait dû sortir ! A quand une démo jouable ?

Not making a judgement at all, but I’m surprised that you chose to model sakuragoaka before dobuita. Dobuita is the first spot I think of when I think shenmue. I guess different parts make an impression on different people. Great work either way

i like these streets and houses so great environment graphics! but ryu charecter in Dreamcast much better in graphic.... this ryu his shoulders and the way he run and walk not toi much nice look like a doll! and he is more younger and thin... but the work is good
