One Thing bout Jamaicans artists is they are very versitile! J.A. Artist can flow in every genre without lose their roots! That's why Reggae Dancehall Artists are so poweful! Shenseea is 🔥 the best in this generation! Big up from Rio Brazil 🇧🇷🇯🇲

I can’t believe people really are on here attacking Winford and he is just trying to help. For all the fans telling Shenseea what you think she wants to hear is not helpful. Learn to differentiate trolls from genuine people that want to see her flourish. Winford was right she shouldn’t have said anything just do what you’re doing. Now people are dragging her online and trying to discourage people from buying her music. Shenseea will be just fine she needs to put in the work and ignore the noise, eventually no one will be referencing the remarks made and we can all move on.

@Pinkhearts2195 ай бұрын
Ok people is missing the point here nobody is saying she can’t tap into other genres…we are just saying that she still should keep that authentic energy do your original formula rapping is not your forte so why do that???? You can still tap into the genres you like and still appeal to the masses but still keep that same vibe of your dancehall roots it is what Rihanna did and still do to this day…I feel Shen wants to cross over so bad she feels doing these genres she feels she has to lose that flair of her Jamaican sound when in all reality she is most known for dancehall that is how (AMERICANS & OTHER COUNTRIES) gravitated to her I am American with Jamaican parents and I see both sides but I agree with Winford she needs to keep that but that is my opinion I think she is a beautiful girl and very talented I feel though she excels and makes better hits with dancehall music…Americans even love that more than her trying to rap or sing pop

One comment on here said, "Now she loves dance hall again." Shenseea NEVER said she hated dance hall to begin loving it again. 😂 Shen was trying to appeal to a different crowd as a marketing technique. Nothing is wrong with that. Lots of artist have done that. Nicki Minaj did a collabo with Movado to appeal/connect with her fellow Caribbean fans. But she is known as an American rapper. Doesn't make her any less American or any less Caribbean. Rihanna, same. Whitney Houston sang ballads/pop, yet most black Americans hated her for it, claiming she is ashamed of her blackness or hates R&B. If an artist is not trying different genres, they are not an artist or tapping into their true artistry. You Jamaicans that are saying this are simply narrow minded or pure hater. Shen is an excellent business woman.

Shensea has some talent but i am not sure that slack lyrical content songs will climb off the short shelf life rack - She got about 1 or 2 half decent songs on the album but no outstsnding songs that will stand the test of time .In general,dancehall has becone too sexually explicit & so is having a short shelf life By going down the sexually explicit & profanity route it also narrows the demographics of fans .As for shensea Jamaicness debate its a silly & futile debate Shensea is from ja and thats all . Its not mandatory for her to do just one music genre or wave a ja flag every 5 mins to satisfy others After all no one demands world music legend Grace jones ( ja born ) to keep overstating that shes representing Jamaica .No one asks beyonce to overstate she 's representing America or representing R,n'B .Not sure why shensea feels the needs to keep stressing she is representing Jamaica, after all shes not participating for ja in the Olympics or the football world cup..
@Mista7366 ай бұрын
Your comment about dancehall being sexually explicit could easily have been written in 1994, hell even 1984. Long time there’s been such, and people still run some of those songs in 2024. If one doesn’t like those types of songs, there’s reggae music straight roots. There’s dancehall tunes that aren’t sexually explicit as well. But being honest, those explicit songs get the most forward from the crowd/listeners. Ask anyone who has done both types and see if most won’t say the explicit ones moved more and sold more when that was a currency.
