I was stationed there for 3 1/2 years 1963-67 as an Aircrew Life Support Specialist with SAC 494th for a few years, then German AF and helicopter flight training and general aviation support. Don’t recognize anything in this video. Amazing makeover.

I went through tech school at Sheppard in 2013, I barely recognize it now! I was in the old 362 dorms, all the new dorms were either just built or being built at that time. I was one of the few guys in my class who had his car brought down by a friend, so I was quite popular on the weekends haha. Good times

I went thru in 1983, my old MC-130P, 660223, is now a maintenance trainer there. Think I feel old?

The airman's club served more beer than a lot of countries. I was lucky I was in class in the AM, and back in the dorm by the time it got too hot. The number of Jackrabbits was surreal.

Its all different, but I spent some good hours in the old airman club first time I ever drank a course beer was there. They didn't sell coors on the east coast then.

Should have seen this base in the 60’s, this base has changed so much each decade since then. Other than the flight line and street layout it is almost unrecognizable.

I arrived at Sheppard in Nov. 1968 after completing Basic Training at Amarillo AFB......wow, so long ago I don't even remember what the base looked like. The only thing I remember is the red and white checkered water tower with the rotating green and white light on the top. :)

I was there in 1979-80. To be train as a telephone linesman . Went back in 1987 to learn how to splice fiber optic cable. That base sure changed a whole lot . I wonder if White Hall is still there.

I was there from Aug to Nov of 79. Nothing looks familiar. I do remember the Airmans club across the street from our barracks. Every morning we got in formation and marched to the hangar for training. The B-52 used to be kept there. I think there was a go-cart track right outside of the gate too. Long time ago.
@kennixox2628 ай бұрын
Were there class rooms inside the hangers? Like a building built inside, if I recall from about the same era.

I was born as a crew chief there in 1967. Came from Basic @ Amarillo. Did the time until August 67. Made 43151A. Worked on 121s @ Otis and McClellan. Had a pilot back up a 121 because he over shot the nose point. Told him reverse his two inboards to back up the 2 foot overshot he did. Spent a year at TSN @ Saigon working on a 123 named”The White Whale”. Thanks for seeing my home for 16weeks many years ago.
