That line hit me like a truck because oh my gods, it is so powerful and gut-wrenching to see Carina having to forcefully admit Maya and watching them be torn apart because of the abuse Maya suffered for so long. Both these characters are spectacular and I give props to both the actors for ther brilliant portrayal.

it's crazy how much growth Maya has had in the show - honestly probably the most character development out of all of the characters. I first watched the show after seeing Carina essentially moved to s19 from greys after s3, and i was surprised to see that Maya was in fact not the main lead of the show

This is what true love is. Carina never stopped caring for Maya, who is stubborn, dedicated, and a broken firefighter. Even when Maya would push her away, eventually she would come around to her, and when she finally confronts her trauma, she realizes how incredible Carina is to her, and that they'll both be great mothers in the future. This quote from Robin Williams in Good Will Hunting really is what Maya needs to hear: "You'll have bad times, but that'll always wake you up to the good stuff that you weren't paying attention to."

I was Marine, meritoriously permitted twice. I was a Deputy and the first female to be promoted to Sergeant. The abuse I went through as a child broke me but also made me. It’s hard to be angry at the abuse that help to make me successful. It took me a long time to repair as much of my brokenness as I could and that’s with professional help but I lost a lot of good women along the way. I’m married (for 23 yrs) and retired (25 yrs on the job) now, in my wildest dreams I never thought I’d have either. Happy endings do exist as long as you stay the course and never give up on your dreams. Im 55 and looking forward to my next achievement, I just have to figure out what I want to do next (I’m like kid again and this time I know I can conquer the world and I’m think I just might).

As i rewatch their story, maya had hurt carina many times. And carina still ran back to her after she convinced her that she’s changed. She’s not, she was in denial. carina should take maya’s advice at their first meeting. She should leave at that moment because she admit that she’s broken. Carina could avoid all the broken hearts moment. I love this couple but it hurting me more whenever carina being sad and hurt caused by maya. Btw both actors were good at their job. I don’t hate them, it just their characters relationship story.

I am a Empath and when maya was trying to comfort Carina and show her it was ok to scream to release her emotions i could literally feel her pain the scene ended and i took a huge breath, tears started to fall 😢 i believe that emotions shouldn't be held back, you should always find a way to release. ❤

I know we didn't get it how long we wanted, but by far, this is the best i have seen for a lesbian couple. The journey to the fight, the love, the support, the commitment, the understanding, and the love they share are everything worth watching no matter how short it was. I learnt a lot and unlearned, so yeah, it was worth it. And as someone who dont believe in marriage or having kids 😊😊😊 that have broken some relationships of mine but over time i do want to have kids and marriage just don't know when or with whom
