SHER SHAH SURI - FARID KHAN (1540 - 1545)
- Founder of Suri Empire- Capital at Sasaram (Bihar)- Earlier he started his service under Bahar Khan Lohani (Mughal Governor of Bengal)
- Also became regent of minor King Jalal Khan Lohani.
- He fought two battles against Humayun at Chausa (on Banks of Ganga near Buxar) in 1539 and at Kannauj (200 kms East of Agra) in 1540 and defeated Humayun.

Sir ! I have studied a book Sher Shah Suri by Vidya Bhaskar 1990 National Book Trust Delhi (Urdu). Pg no. 24. Bhaskar says that in a single combat he killed a lion which appeared before Bihar Khan Lohani. On his bravery he was given the title of Sher Khan by Lohani. Now plz do the correction of Bhaskar sb by strong evidence or plz make your rectification. Thanks ! Sir I appreciate your fluency.
