That's the last thing on my bucket list. I love that you're a tribute artist!❤ Good luck in your continuing career!

Thanks, Steve. This one will be a favourite for years to come. Both you and Sheri show such commitment to the 'truth and integrity' that simply shine a new light on the often repeated prejudices and misconceptions. How comforting to know that even those who knew him still cannot explain the phenomenon that was Elvis...

Wonderful. Would love to hear Sheri elaborate on your show more on what she remembers about the Beatles visit, just more memories. Unfortunately, there aren't many left who were actually with him. She and her siblings and other mafia kids should write their memoir like her mom and dad did. Like she said, no other star had his setup of family and friends around him. If they have any home videos they want to share, a dvd would be awesome. Thank you Sheri. The story about climbing in his lap was sweet. Those are the kind of stories we like to hear. Unique experiences no one else had.

Thank you Steve, for sharing this awesome interview and thanks to mrs. Sheri. for taking her time to talk with you about her father Marty and the relationship he had with Elvis. I am 1 year older than mrs. Sheri, so I was 18 when the radio made that awful announcement that Elvis had suddenly passed. I remember clearly how I felt. I was in disbelief at first until they repeated it, and so I was devastated and cried for days and at a time for long while. I had just gotten married on the 5 th of August and in my kitchen starting up the meal for that evening. Anyway, I thank you for the podcast, first one I ever remember hearing. It was really cool. Sheri ' s father sounds like he was a wonderful person and an awesome and loyal friend to Elvis. It would be wonderful if I could hear Elvis's voice in an interview that clearly . May Elvis and Marty continue to Rest in peace. 😇 💖

I agree totally, I love Sheri and also Marty and Billy more than the other guys, because they seemed so honest, and in Marty's case - maybe brutally honest. Sheri seemed the same and when she said there were some things in Priscilla's book that just weren't true, I wanted to know what, but that was not followed up. She did seem willing to talk about it. Kind of disappointed, because I would believe her. Still a great interview though.

Great interview! I was able to ask Marty a question through Ask Marty on EIN and was charmed by his answer, which was very similar to the story shared in the video about Marty seeing Elvis smile when he saw him: Q: If it is not too personal, would you also tell us the greatest thing you ever did for Elvis and the greatest thing you feel Elvis did for you? A: One of the number of things that I'm proud of that I did for Elvis, no, make that two things ... One, Talking him into doing the recording sessions at American Studios in Memphis in '69 and the other was in '71 when I got the Memphis City Council to name Elvis Presley Blvd. for him. I did those things as a friend because I was not on his payroll the last ten years but he acted as if I still worked for him because he asked me to do a number of things for him thru the 70's. The best thing he ever gave to me was his close friendship and his smile. Marty

Sherri your father was such a true and loyal friend to Elvis. There are so many career moves that helped Elvis so much he wouldn’t have made had it not done if Marty had not told Elvis. Marty should have been Elvis management. Marty didnt hold Elvis back. He told Elvis truth no one else would say. After Elvis got started it’s too bad he didn’t see Marty could carry it on from there. Marty had such good business sense. I’m so glad Elvis had Marty there to encourage him at the right times. Marty could have taken over the Management and done well with it.

. . ✨ I liked her dad the most of them . I’d heard Lamar make thin remarks on EP after he’d passed, heard how some others did pick him apart like charred chicken wings. . .and when Cilla tried to push her weight around on the guys for every little thing thinking she was all that and a bag of chips, it was Marty who stood up to her and called her out . .he stayed the same, he wasn’t full of himself nor try to profit off of EP’s private/personal information like others have . ..

Sherri glAd to hear you say that about Lamar cause I didn’t quite know how to take him. I was glad he told colonel parker off and parker told him to get out. Billy was with Elvis when Gladys died. I think that’s one reason Elvis was so close with Billy and he grew up Elvis as his cousin.

Alana's books are the best out there that's been written, although I do want to read Tish Henley's book. She was his nurse that lived at Graceland and took care of Elvis. She really loved him and has some great stories about the time they spent together.

Absolutely brilliant! Sheri was so insightful and respectful of all things Elvis and her father. So good of her to try and carry on his work. Loved her comments about Sonny’s love for Elvis. In all the books I have read I intuitively suspected that Red and Sonny were devoted. The Memphis Mafia book is one of the best! Thanks again SF!

I consider the book What Happened by Red & Sonny West, and Dave Hebler to be a betrayal . It is something I have not been able to forgive even now. I can only imagine how Elvis felt about it and how it hurt him. Elvis did so much for the people who worked for him and had very close friendships with them. For these men to act like Elvis owed them a living and to act like they were entitled once they were dismissed is hard to believe. In my opinion, Elvis deserved far more loyalty and respect than he received. Only Elvis knows how the book truly affectrd him but that is my personal opinion. I could never imagine Elvis doing something like writing the book What Happened to one of his close friends.

I enjoyed the book. These guys loved Elvis. And after Elvis passed it was proven that everything they wrote was true. They tried to help Elvis. So no the book was not a betrayal. They told the truth . To let ppl know Elvis was a human being like the rest of us. He had his flaws as we all do.

I was absolutely captivated on how Miss lacker would say there was basically two types of Elvis. One on the stage, and the other one at home. It’s funny but I’ve heard the same thing before. Vernon Presley‘s brother, Vester said the exact same thing. Vester was totally blown away when he saw his nephew for the very first time performing on stage. He could not believe what he was witnessing. It was almost being able to turn it off and on like a light switch. He said who is this person? Vester Presley would go further and say, it was very strange. Elvis on stage was so captivating. Elvis was completely the opposite when he was not being the entertainer/performer at home. This was a fantastic interview, what I really like about it was the length and the detailed information only a insider would know. It really made me feel like a part of the inner circle. For me personally, Elvis Presley is a phenomenon. He’s been part of my life for 45 years, And has had such a massive impact on my life. It’s unexplainable, at the same time, including monumental. I cannot imagine life without Elvis, the man, the figure, and the voice. He was an amazing humanitarian and I truly believe we were all given this beautiful gift called, Elvis. If you were to ask anybody this question, no one would have an answer. Because it will never happen in their lifetime. Do you know of any people in your personal life who are visited at their gravesite every single day for a total of 44 years? On top of it, do you know of any single human who receives flowers at there grave sight every single day? I know of one person only and that is Elvis Aaron Presley.

Parker said Elvis didn't want to do Star is Born Sonny Parker also backed Parker on that it included Elvis getting in shape going to a fat farm etc. Parker also said Elvis didn't want to do Overseas because he didn't want to play the outdoor stadium. Actually I don't belueve that because Parker made that statement years after Elvis was dead.

Parker knew nothing about music or what a Treasure he had in Elvis and totally mishandled Elvis Career! The album that came out of Stax was one of the best! I also loved his last album the jungle room sessions!

I enjoy Marty's interviews discussing Elvis, very enlightening and tells it like it was. I would love to hear more about Anita Wood. Elvis would have probably been better off to have stuck with her longer. Her middle name is Marie, btw, and she and Elvis had planned to name their child, if they ever had one, Alisa Marie. Interesting, don't you think?

Jerry Shilling would be a fantastic interview! I've seen a couple of them and you can tell he loved Elvis so much, he still lives in the house Elvis gave him. He and Elvis also had a special bond. He was the one he chose to go to DC when nobody knew where he was and snuck off to see Nixon. Of course he did finally call Sonny to come at the last minute.

I listened to some of Marty’s interviews, he was a straight shooter and a true friend of Elvis he talked Elvis into recording in Memphis and it was a big hit , I believe Elvis was happy that he took Marty’s advice, and he didn’t write a bad book betraying his friend Elvis never be another Elvis not even close.
