@@sajidulislamskilled yes, i want to see realistic cases and deductions not how Sherlock magically deduces who the criminal is. I want development and depth (which are present in the books too) because that's what makes a show good, otherwise it's the same character, making the same things, saying kind of the same things (for example BBC Sherlock saying that "he has no friends" and "he's a sociopath" over and over again) and that makes a show boring and dialogues don't really have any meaning. That's my opinion and you can have yours. That's why i made this video, i wanted to show my opinion on this two portrayals of the character. If i were to make this video how 90% of the Sherlock fans view this two characters (a lot of them didn't even see the first two seasons of Elementary tho) i would've given BBC Sherlock all categories which is wrong. In my opinion, the only things better in BBC Sherlock are cinematography and effects. I don't know if you've watched the whole show but if you didn't i suggest you watch it before debating.

Yeah, i agree. Sherlock is my favorite fictional character. I know almost every portrayal of the character (this includes the anime, video games, books, movies and tv shows) and i can say Sherlock from Elementary is probably my second favorite. All i can say is that Elementary is worth watching especially if you are a Sherlock fan.

Well dont fight guys everyone has its own opinion someone likes from the Novel some BBC and some Elementary but dont forget these all shows,anime portrait a legendary character in their own ways but at the end they are portraying a legendary Character from novels i have so much memories with the Novel like The Hound of the baskevillers and movie of RDJ portraying sherlock i always feel nostalagic reading them EDIT: I didnt thought i will get a heart thank you.

Gonna have to disagree. BBC Sherlock isn't only intellectualy superior, the show is also much better imo. The dialogues, character, development, acting, cinematography, it's all on point in the BBC Show. Overall I'd say Sherlock from BBC is A or A+ tier Show, while Elementary Sherlock is B tier

I disagree. Did you see the whole show? BBC Sherlock didn't really have any character development especially compared to Sherlock from Elementary. For example, Sherlock didn't admit that John is his friend until season 3 if i remember correctly and he admitted that only because John was angry. Sherlock from Elementary not only admitted Joan is his friend pretty early but admitted that Marcus and Gregson are his friends and he cares about them and respects them. This is just an example of better character development in Elementary. The characters from Elementary aren't stupid like most characters from BBC (except Sherlock, Mycroft, Eurus and Moriarty) and they actually help in solving cases. Also, characters from Elementary have more depth and the development between them it's much better. Dialogues from Elementary are much better than those from BBC especially if they're about Sherlock's drug use. Acting it's debatable and cinematography it's indeed better in BBC. Elementary as a show it's better because of the more realistic (and imo more interesting ) cases, the story and characters that have more depth and also the dialogues. I'm sorry to say it but i think you eather are too much of a BBC Sherlock fan to see Elementary it's better or you didn't see Elementary (at least not the whole show). I say this because there is no way you've seen it and think things like characters and development are better in BBC. You may like BBC Sherlock more but you have to admit some things are far better in Elementary.

@@andrewsp1230 to be fair, I only watched like the first 1.5 seasons, since I wasn't really enjoying the show all that much. It's true that elementary Sherlock is more open about his feelings, but that doesn't mean that he has better development. The dialogues are debatable, but I like the fast paced, humorous dialogues from BBC more than the ones from elementary. The fact that most characters in BBC are useless in solving cases doesn't make their characters bad, it just proves my point, that Sherlock, Mycroft, etc are just much, much smarter compared to anyone else in BBC than in elementary. Characters like molly, mrs Hudson, lesttade all play their roles

All Elementarys characters are some dudes who predent that they look and act like doyles chacacters, while they do neither.In the BBC's (on the other hand) every single of the actors arent just playing the characters, they are the characters!!! The showrunners also respect the sourse material so much that every chance they do to the story or evey character development is still based on Doyles books!!!!The complete oposite of Elementarys showrunners. They misrepresented every character while butchering them from what made them unique so they can fit their version. Best example: Sherlock and Irene. In Sherlock their reletionship is perfect well writen an portrayed. The writers are making it clear that this two cant be together, because they must stay faithfull to the books.Yet as the episode goes on you can see the chemistry between this two and how slowly they fell in love, but both of them refuse to accept it. On the other hand Elementary's writers when they genderbended Moriarty they thought it would be cool to ship him with Sherlock, but they remembered Irenes excistanse. So what did they do? The worst solution possible: they combined the characters to one. You want anther example? Holmes and Watchon. Seriusly dude, none of Elementarys scenes can overcame Sherlocks best man speech. A speech that not only showed us in deph Sherlocks true character but also who he sees Watchon as a person and who much he cares about him. And something else: ask any true Sherlock Holmes fan, which actor who portraid him is the bset Sherlock. Everybody will tell you Robert Downey Jr. or Benedict Cumberbatch (in my opinion were the best, while portraing the character in their own way) but none will tell you Jonny Lee Miller!

Elementary has better cases, better character development, better dialogues, the characters are better written, it's more realistic (which I think it's better), etc. BBC Sherlock has a higher score only because of the cast and because it's better known than Elementary. You literally said you've watched only a few episodes, how can you compare them? I can't even debate with you why I think Elementary is better because you wouldn't even understand. I say this as someone who's actually watched them both (I've watched BBC Sherlock three times and Elementary two times) and Elementary is better. Everything from the writing, to the characters, to the cases, to the development is just better in Elementary. But then again, even if I give examples, you wouldn't understand because you probably didn't even get past season one. How can I talk about how the relationship between Sherlock and Joan, Marcus and Gregson evolved throughout the series and how much growth as a character each one of them has or how the cases were much more realistic and well thought or how the deductions are better when you've only seen a few episodes. I don't care if you don't like Elementary, but to say one is better than the other when you only know one of them is just stupid. Come back when you've watched both and can actually have arguments.

For me, BBC Sherlock is far better at everything. In Elementary, the characters are boring and plain. The dialogues are very insipid. Many said that in the BBC series, many characters dont look like the original characters from the books. But in Elementary, this is much worse. With the cast and the images of the characters, they screwed up completely. Especially messed up with Sherlock. The character doesnt have charisma and charm of Benedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock. As an actor, Benedict Cumberbatch is also much better than Johnny Lee Miller. Mycroft's image was also made very repulsive. Of the entire cast, I liked only Lucy Liu. It also bothered me that almost all the cases that Sherlock solved were too complicated. It's like all the bad guys in that world are criminal geniuses)) The atmosphere is also much better in the BBC series. But this is not surprising. After all, the series was filmed by british, and in the UK, not by Americans in Los Angeles. And I don't agree that Sherlock from the BBC doesn't have development. Just look at Sherlock from the first episodes, and Sherlock from the last season, and you'll see a big difference. You said that Sherlock recognized John as his friend only in season 3. But that's a lie. Sherlock officially recognized him as his only friend in the episode "The Hound of the Baskervilles". This is season 2, episode 2. And of course the music is also better in the BBC series. It's mysterious and interesting. And it also conveys the atmosphere of London. But that's just my opinion

Repetitive dialogue is better than actual character development. Yes, you are right. Also, both Sherlocks are not really Sherlock because both shows take place in the present. Your argument is bs. If you’d at least read the books, you’d see Elementary Sherlock is closer as a character to the original Sherlock. BBC Sherlock is an exaggeration, a caricature of the original. All of original’s Sherlock little flaws are exaggerated and put into a single character (that also has no character development). For example him being antisocial (and a sociopath which he repeats so many times it’s tiring). Original Sherlock wasn’t antisocial, he actually had really good social skills. Or the fact he was so antipathetic and almost no one liked him. Original Sherlock was actually liked and his intelligence and his abilities were actually respected, which doesn’t happen in BBC. In Elementary, his abilities and introverted nature are better shown, his fight with addiction is better shown. The cases are closer to the original, the dialogues are better and his friendship (a term that isn’t in BBC’s vocabulary) with the people close to him is infinitely better. If you weren’t so narrow minded, you’d see that I’m right. The only Sherlock that is like the original is Granada Sherlock.
