I'm just gonna come right out and say this: I've watched every episode of Elementary and Sherlock that has come out, and this is the superior show by far. The characters are more developed, the focus is where it belongs (on the cases, with the relationships between characters treated as subplots), and the greatest detective in all fiction is not reduced to a second rate Sheldon Cooper (with Elementary you get the impression that Sherlock understands social norms but just doesn't care, which is closer to the source material and more in line with what you'd expect from a detective who has to be able to read people as well as crime scenes). On top of that, Sherlock's third season sucked.

I am SO glad you included Clyde! “Why does Clyde have a cross on his back?” “He’s an ambulance.” Now we need a scene where Clyde is wearing one of Mrs. Hudson’s cozies that she knitted (or crocheted) for him. Thank you for putting this together! I thought I was the only one amused by Manny Tarkanian. Finally, someone who recognizes that Elementary has one of the greatest senses of humor of all the shows in this Sherlock genre. I notice you didn't get to the later seasons. Please be on the look out for the NYC water contamination episode that starts off with a clown being chased through the woods in the middle of the night. Had me falling over laughing when I first saw it. 🤣😂

I feel your pain. I have lent out seasons on DVD to friends and family and promoted this show to everyone I know. But you can only make it available or known about, for when they are ready to discover it on their own. Until then it sits on their DVD player with Archer and Scrubs, collecting dust.

I love this show. starting season 6 tonight. I've stick with this more than the BBC one. I only watched up to season 2. imo the writing n acting does not compare to Elementary. it felt like that show was more fangirly which catered to merch etc. not saying it's terrible yet I prefer more meat on the bone so to speak.

ATS/angel777 xD of course hes not exactly like Sherlok Holmes but certain aspects of his feelings towards justice and his way on getting philosophical are just on point. He was not an arrogant sociopath , like other characterizations make him appear. And the show actually shows how Sherlock worked hard to achieve so much knowledge and capability at solving crimes. That's my personal opinion however.
