Sherlock Holmes The Awakened is 2023 remake of one of the most popular games developed by Frogwares and published in 2007,
A Lovecraft meets Sherlock Holmes crossover, The Awakened puts you up against the legendary Cthulhu Mythos. Investigate a series of mysterious disappearances, apparently linked to a dark cult that worships an Ancient God. Whatever their plan is, you must put a stop to it… or face unspeakable consequences.

Wait, they remade The Awakened? I don't know how I feel about this. I get that the original one is a bit dated, but the dark atmosphere is really hard to beat

I have no idea how similar is is to the original. They wanted to recreate the dark atmosphere, but we'll see how successful they were.

So psyched to see you play this! I was initiated with the Forgwares Sherlock series on your channel. While I prefer the classic, more gentlemanly Sherlock, I'm still thrilled to see this new adaptation has to offer! (A lot of people seem to find his voice "sleep-inducing" but I think the voice actor nailed the snarky humour masked by polite demeanour. He will be missed.)

I spent so much time playing their previous SH game last year that I can't even remember the old take on Sherlock. I never had any complaints though

Yeah, I had this release date marked on my calendar! I don't know if the plot of this remake will be the same as the original's, but expecting it to be based on the same premise

Additionally I see they changed the time setting. If I remember right the original game was set in the 1890s. Here it's 1882.

Yeah, I'm thinking it's probably because they wanted to use the younger Sherlock character model following chapter 1.

@@AdventureGameFan8 I think it just might turn out to be a great idea, since they needed to accentuate the fact that it's Sherlock Holmes against the Lovecraftian madness of Cthulhu. The original game was fun but Holmes was rather nonchalant about all the weird shenanigans going on around him [apart from that "breakdance" he did after Louisiana]

Hey Adventure, great to see you play this. I personally love the Lovecraft mythos and mixing it with Sherlock is a wonderful idea. Correct me if I am wrong, in this you play a much younger version of Sherlock so what year is this supposed to play out in regards to the other games?

Funnily enough, playing the original SH Awakened introduced me to the Cthulhu Mythos. They used the same character model like in Chapter One, so Sherlock looks a bit younger than he's supposed to be

So this is the continuation from the new Sherlock. I have seen the older one, I guess they wanted this story to follow afterwards. Cool

I just can't have that Sherlock looks like an adultescent emo hipster. Watson isn't much better, he just hides it behind a moustache. 2:39 Look at how similar he is to Final Fantasy XV's "boyband".

Not a big fan of Watson here to be honest. Used to Holmes having played SH Chapter One last year though.
