John thought it was Irene after Sherlock's deduction of the coffin to be a woman's and Mycroft finding "I love you" written on the lid. John slipped and did not realize. Like any other AdLock shippers he too thought Irene was the love. However Eurus did not slip or make the same mistake. She set up a challenge with Molly, the real woman. Eurus knew Sherlock too well. She knew how much it would destroy him to surrender to his sentiments, in her words "emotional context destroys you". She found Sherlock's emotional context "Molly Hooper". She said "you lost" to Sherlock after this challenge, because the latter has always considered sentiments to be found in he losing side. The second time when he confessed, it came all from his heart leading him losing the battle of emotions, giving in to his sentiments. Hence we found him breaking the coffin and completely drained in emotions. Absolutely beautiful video. Right in the feels. :))

Only has two problems with his theory: first, the game consisted of Molly, not Sherlock, but Molly saying "I love you". It was only because of Molly's blackmail that Sherlock forced himself to say those infamous words. Now are you going to tell me that Eurus "guessed" that Molly would force Sherlock to say what he said to make him "confess" his feelings? Second problem: Moffitis stated that the "I love you" scene did not exist originally and that it was done at the last minute. How did this whole storyline you mentioned in your comment suddenly develop? Gattis said in an interview about "I love you": "We don't know what to do with that".

@@sell8789 You are right. Eurus is a bloody psychopath who doesn't know and understand anything about human emotions. She couldn't deduced anything about his heart. It was an insane mindgame, and Sherlock and Molly were only part of this game. She needed them only to see how emotions work. And John never was a Adlock shipper, he was always just jealous and didn't really like to see Irene and Sherlock together. Interesting Eurus only lured John and Sherlock in different disguises to spy them out about their relationship, but neither Molly or Irene.

If he tolerated her, it was because he saw that Sherlock had a certain fascination for the Woman, and for his friend, John encouraged Sherlock to look for Irene, because he mistakenly thought the detective would be happy with her. But in TLD, Sherlock made it clear that it was a mistake to get involved with Irene. Only that. So Sherlolly fans think it's actually Molly who Sherlock loves. If they mistakenly call John an Adlock shipper, they think Eurus is a Sherlolly shipper. Pft!

@@sell8789 You are right in everything what you said. Yes, I know this opinion from Sherlolly fans, which think Eurus actually was shipping Sherlock and Molly (yes why she has chose her). She used Molly and her own brother like toys for her perfid game. Eurus knew, it wasn't any bombs in Mollys apartment, she didn't care for her. But in her own psychopathic way she "cared" about Sherlock and John, she lured both just for the reason to know more about their relationship, and tried to bring them apart the same way she did it with Victor Trevor, kill John. But fortunately it didn't work, Eurus went back to prison and the boys are together with Rosie as a family. And some people still think John is the captain of the Adlock yacht. How stupid is that actually. John have known better, actually he knows Sherlock isn't interested in women, when he was asked by him about if he had a girlfriend or boyfriend. Girlfriends? No, not really, my area, but boyfriends are fine, btw. 😄

Sherlock and Molly are adorable. Sherlolly is not adorable. The only scene in which Sherlock shows emotion towards Molly is the ILY scene, and that is because Molly is supposedly being threatened. For the rest, it goes from indifference, through brotherly love, to good friendship and consideration. Seriously, do you want to compare the chemistry between John and Sherlock with the chemistry between Molly and Sherlock ??

I'm still in shock! This is the power of fanbase: Molly started off just as a temporary comic relief, but people loved her so much she became a recurring character. We shipped them so much now THIS happened! I have been elated ever since I saw the episode. In a way. we helped this happen :)

There are apparently a lot of people who believe that Molly's presence in the last episode reduced her to square 1, made her a shallow experimental character but I just HIGHLY disagree. Yes, they only wanted her for the first episode but they liked her so much they kept her around, but they actually did her some good. She wasn't one of those fangirls that was all dreamy around him forever. It may have seemed that way when she went out with another guy and used Moriarty to make Sherlock jealous or show him that she's desirable, but that's just a girl being a girl and trying to fight something she thought was impossible (concerning her engagement). I think she developed surprisingly when her attitude towards Sherlock wasn't all rosy and she didn't always think everything he did was perfect. Sometimes she seems to be the person who can't stand how imperfect he is, how he's seemingly cold at times, etc to the point you think she dislikes him in general despite her feelings... but loves him anyway. He wasn't a perfect being in her eyes yet she couldn't help herself. Also when she helped him fake his death, that episode held some surprising insight with her and her attention to the type of person he is. (Him not being ok, him not wanting chips) She progressed to a point where she didn't tiptoe around him or try very hard with him but the feelings were there. I don't think her genuinely being in love with him makes her a cliche' fangirl character. I also dislike what one of the (I think) creators of the show said about Molly's outcome after the finale. That she probably "had a drink and slept with somebody and got over Sherlock". I think that possibility just wastes what a pure feeling Molly had for Sherlock. THAT outcome makes her an experiment. Makes all that pining on her end just go up in smoke and then whatever. I mean they call her cliche' but her ending up with Sherlock is a lot less cliche than Sherlock ending up with 'The Woman' in my opinion. And no, this is not JUST because I want Sherlock with Molly. It just feels right, not because Molly deserves it but because I feel like she has the potential to make Sherlock happy. I mean, I can see them going their separate ways and never being together and turning out just fine, but the former, her and him actually ending up together, seems well, more true? I'm not saying they end up together immediately, but after some time, I think it would be in their cards.

If you are not convince sherlock actually fell for molly. In s2, sherlock has this speech with irene that how pupils dilated when you look at someone you love. When molly is talking to sherlock in the lab about her father and sherlock are similar in a way that they both look sad when they think no one is looking. And molly said that he can ask for her help anytime he needs her. And sherlock somehow feeling touched with what molly said. And later when he did find her in the lab and ask for help, his pupils dilated. That can't be conincidence. He also invited molly to replace john to solve cases because solving cases is more important to him than having dinner. And when he told molly he love her, that's when he realized it.

Ever since I saw Molly in the first episode I knew that she had this one-sided love for Sherlock... I felt so bad for her. She was always trying her best to impress him, but he rejected her and I was sooooo freakin' mad at him. This "forbidden love" reminded me to Joker and Harley, because Harley and Molly are soooo similar. Also when he says the second « I love you », I believe it’s a revelation for him and an acceptance of his true feelings rather that a confession to others.
