Just received my Sherman firefly yesterday and i have to say i am impressed. I really like the turret knob on the back. Only thing i will say is the drive wheels at the front fall off of the tank whenever i move the thing maybe i havent built it correctly but they are only held by two studs

Hey! I have just spoke with Cody on this issue (the designer). The light gray bushing on the end of that part needs to be relatively loose and not pushed fully into the drive wheel. If you leave it pushed directly against the drive wheel, then there is no movement, and this causes the part to pop off! Hopefully this solves the issue you are having!

The fire fly was as namred as it would set the grass on fire after pumping a couple shots down range,the gun was put on its side and a radio bistle was added. The right hand door, ex bow gunner was removed for 14 sheklls,and was nithing like the ford sherman easy eight which was faster and had more armour and the gun was ok at getting through the front of a panther along with 17 pdr which was comprable to the panthers gun and the 90 mm gun could also go throu a panthers hull

Very nice, he is good with sloping... Could you guys maybe get him to redo your T-55 kit? Like it looked alright, but somethings were slightly off about it and it just didn't quite seem quite up to par with your other kits which was a shame... Also can you provide any info on when/if the Brickarms DSHK Machine Gun will ever be released without the T-72 kit? I've got a minifig scale T-55 and a brickbuilt DSHK but its just not the same quality... that piece would really accent it nicely, but I can't fork out that much on the T-72 for just the Machine Gun... I'm just curious is all.

The T-55 design is years old. Back then our philosophy of was simplicity of design, rather than cluttering up the model with hundreds of extra parts, just to capture a few extra details. I doubt there will be a serious revisit to the T-55 design anytime soon, because there is way too much other Russian armor to cover. As of the DSHK, those were made by special request for the T-72 kits. We do not make BrickArms weapons and can not address when or if they will become a standard release item.

Very informative thanks for the reply. Two more questiosn: Does your shop plan on making super heavy WWII armor, like say the Maus/E-100, IS-7, T28/T95, or O-I? As well as I know the Brickmania track links are selling well because I see more and more MOCs around the net with them, My question is: Have you guys thought about making 3 wide links? And building upon this, Have you thought about making links with different track pad surfaces? Like 2 wide Sherman pads, or 2 wide Pz IV pads? A lot of really nit picky MOCers may be interested in more specific Track Links (I know I myself have been looking for a 3 wide link with a T-55-ish track pad face vs the standard Lego link) I don't know how hard that would be to mold, so excuse me if its actually a really intense time consuming process. There's a solid chance they would sell well, especially Sherman Links (Already have them kind of), T-34 Links, Pz III/IV Links, and Tiger/Panther Links (These could be the 3 wide links.) It just really seemed like a logical kind of thing to build upon because they really are a great idea to have versus standard Lego links. And I know they are quite a few years old design, it's just weird seeing for example your Jagdpanzer IV kit you released last year rolling on 2 wide Sherman treads... Of course nothing to immediately look into, but maybe something for the future to further help modelers give their models an even more realistic feel to them.

No, all Firefly tanks were on standard M4 or M4A4 chassis with VVHS suspension and narrow tracks.

Fun fact contrary to popular belief the 17pdr installed on the the Sherman was not very accurate at range there British gunners would engage enemy armor at max of 500 yards

Only heard of inaccuracy with the APDS (Armor Piercing Discarding Sabot) rounds. This was not a problem of the gun, but in fact a defect of the ammunition. APCBC (Armor Piercing Capped, Ballistic Capped) rounds had normal accuracy at range, but could not penetrate armor as well. The APDS rounds were quite rare in service, so APCBC was the round more often used. Keep in mind that most of the tank battles fought in western Europe took place at ranges of less than 1000 meters. This had more to do with crowded terrain than the accuracy of the tank guns or ammunition.

No, this the VC. The V stands for the M4A4 Sherman, which this is. It has a slightly bigger hull than other Shermans, due to the massive size of the Chrysler multi bank engine.

Actually the firefly had awful accuracy over 500 yards and was extremely cramped inside the turret. All in all it was comparable to the Sherman easy eight in practice

This tank is historically inaccurate, the British fit the powerful gun inside of the tank and the Americans were reluctant to put a forain gun inside of their tanks, so there shouldn't be a american star symbol on th tank
