In the U.S. the shop owner absorbs the loss, and then gets $1300 taken off his taxes. as well as the cost of an equivalent vehicle (a van, or better) for the whole week, costing Jamie nothing. My dealership takes my car for the day for regular maintenance, they give me a flashy loaner.

What wonderful gifts! The pictures are stunning, Sherpa is a magnificent subject for a work of art. It didn't need an interpreter to here the many Nooooos, especially at the end. It's good thing a minor issue sent the van in to be fixed, because the other issue could have gone unnoticed until a breakdown while on the road.

We used a painting of George Farmer by Charles Grignion, 1778, and mixed it with Sherpa's image. It's 243 years old image! This guy was a Royal Navy officer - a noble Brit (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Farmer_(Royal_Navy_officer) You can order similar work with your pet or a HUMAN FRIEND if you are interested ;)) We do the trick and print on a metal sheet then ship it to you with a UPS.

Many years ago, when I lived in England, I took my diesel car for a service. They similarly fudged it up, but, having made a mistake, honoured the repair without any extra costs!
