Durga Mata ki Jai means Victory to Goddess Durga, she is a war goddess and also goddess of prosperity. The feminine divine. Many regiments of Indian Armed forces have such war cries. Durga Mata ki Jai is one of them as most soldiers in the specific regiment where Capt. Batra was serving come from a specific area and their Kuldevi(main god/godess they worship) is Durga Mata.

Battle of batra top was on for nearly 4 days, for three days other company of 13 j&k rifles was fighting and it was impossible to cross as way was blocked by mountain, on 3rd day delta company of cap vikram batra came and fought, we lost him that day, his troops went wild after what happened, it took CO to stop them. Btw just next to batra top was tiger hill and 18 granediers were fighting to capture it.
