GRAB the Yarn and Hook/Simple BEAUTY/Crochets in a Few Minutes, but Looks GREAT/Crochet with BEADS

Oh my goodness! I have been looking for this pattern without knowing it….. let me explain. I have decided to crochet some bookmarks for my adult children as well as their children. Ideas for the grandbabies are plentiful, and I even have decided how I want to do my three sons’ bookmarks, but I needed something to joozsh up the ones for my three daughters. I have a really pretty, almost Victorian looking flower (think William Morris-esque) for the top, but wanted a repeated smaller motif for the bottom, and hadn’t found something that set my hair on fire until I saw this tutorial. YES! Oh Elena, you just made me the happiest Mama and I can’t wait to get back to civilization next month to go on a shopping spree for all my supplies! We live in a really remote town in the Canadian Arctic, so there are zero craft supplies here, but we have a trip south planned for four weeks from now. My daughters’ fave colours (in chronological order) are blue, burgundy, and green, and I plan on buying tonal cotton embroidery thread to work them up.

I did this with a necklace that belonged to my grandmother. Took it apart and incorporated the beads into a doily and gifted it to my aunt. Turned out very nice and can be displayed all the time instead of tucked away in a box or a drawer.

Oh my. You are so creative. What a beautiful idea. You make it look so simple,yet elegant. I've made many blanket's & put flower's on them with either bead's or buttons in the middle of the flower's.
