The ability to go for a 2-3 hour run without having to carry my phone is why I will always choose Apple. Until Garmin can figure out a way to support cellular capabilities it just doesn’t make sense for me. Thanks Shervin!

Just received my 51mm in the mail yesterday. I love the look and feel. The health features are crazy. It tells you absolutely everything you could want to know. AWU is a smart watch with fitness features while the GF8 is a fitness watch with smart features. I didn't need another smart device. I wanted something healthy tracking first and that's how I feel about the Fenix.

I’ve been going back and forth between the Apple Watch Ultra and Garmin, but I have to say my heart lies with the AWU! Its versatility and sleek design make it perfect for everyday use. Whether I'm tracking my workouts, receiving notifications, or just checking the weather, it fits seamlessly into my lifestyle. Plus, it’s stylish enough to wear anywhere! ❤

I personally am not buying multiple watches like many KZbinrs. For one watch that thrives in the most situations the Apple Watch is king. I workout at most for 2 hours in a day. That leaves 22 for the nor fitness features to make a big difference. I’ve used the Apple Watch Ultra to hike through mountain ranges and scuba dive, plus the smart watch features throughout my work day. On top of that it does a good job on running several hundred miles a year. Garmin does great for 1-2 hours out of the day while Apple does well plus thrives in the other 22-23 hours.

Really enjoyable video Shervin! Many times people will show a summary screen when comparing runs. You spent considerable time showing us the tracks and even mentioned how the Apple Watch typically shows a shorter distance but never from what I saw showed us the distances of all the runs. Garmin pin only has to be entered once every 24 hrs unless you take the watch off. Use a hot key combo and it can be as fast as using Apple Pay.
@gregorypuryear3876 сағат бұрын
You’ve made a lot of these comparison videos Shervin and I’m still undecided LOL! I have the Fenix 8 51mm and the black Ultra 2. But before that the Epix pro 51 mm and the Ultra 2 and I still can’t decide which one. I’m constantly taking one or the other off when I’m not running or working out. But when I do any activity I wear both always. I use the Ultra 2 as a mini phone and music player when I’m running, that way I don’t have to carry the phone. The Fenix added a microphone but it still feels like just a fitness watch and I get really annoyed when someone calls it a smartwatch because it’s not to me. I’ve had Garmin pay since it was introduced on the 645 and to this day it won’t accept any of my cards. But the Apple Watch excepts every last one of them, that’s just one example. The track function on the Ultra 2 is next level. To me they destroy the Garmin on that, it’s just way more seamless to use than the track function on the Garmin. The battery life for me is not an issue. I get that some guys don’t wanna charge their watch everyday but that never bothered me. Even the Ultra charges pretty fast and gets me thru the day. The Ultra 2 has mastered the smartwatch side of things and it’s pretty exceptional with the fitness side too. Right now the only thing that Garmin can scream is battery life in days and not hours. The Ultra 2 doesn’t do some things as well as the Fenix 8, but it does a lot of things well whereas the Fenix 8 just screams fitness, scaling mountains and being out in the wilderness for weeks at a time. For average guys like me the Ultra 2 is fine.
@7sage4694 сағат бұрын
Yup I agree. The people who call a garmin a smart watch haven't compared it to an actual smart watch because my Fenix 8 feels quite dumbed down and feature poor compared to my Ultra 2.
@Flobert166 сағат бұрын
I run a lot and listen to podcasts and audiobooks while running. Garmin truly sucks for listening media. I sold my fenix 8 and switch to AWU2 and never looked back. Plus the ability to run without a phone via LTE or quick reply via Siri is just icing on the cake !

@ when was your last 7 days ultra marathon? I find so funny people out of shape like you that rock with Garmin for the battery life. AWU charging 20 min in shower every two days is fine by me. But I get that for lazy people like you it’s too much to ask.

It makes no sense to me,I'd just rather take my phone and pick up calls or answer messages

Sorry to say this but that was a major miss on the heart rate data comparison. The two watches are different from each other, but which is closer to correct? You should have worn a chest rate strap paired to a third watch in your pocket to record the correct data, so we can see which of the two wrist watches is actually reliable for heart rate. You spend all that time talking about GPS accuracy but missed this heart rate test which is equally if not more important. Maybe another short video.

Hej Shervin! Enjoyed the breakdown comparison. 👍🏼 I wear both the Watch Ultra 2 (Balck) and the Garmin Tactix Pro 7 daily. Garmin because it’s consistent with its task and the Ultra for lifestyle/Fitness but most importantly because I don’t need to carry a phone with me when I run (broke my second metatarsal bone in my left foot some years ago and won’t run with a way to call for help moving forward). I don't like the Apple snapping the route to map data. Believe it or not the map is not always correct. Furthermore, if I'm weaving between the left and right sides of a street during a race, for example to dodge around other people, the Apple watch will dumb it down to a straight line based on the map??? Sorry but I'd rather have the truthful GPS track, even if it might not be perfect. None of that fake BS.

Apple’s current answer is fast charging. Yes, that is nice but constantly having to top up kills the battery on the watch much quicker over time. I’d bet Apple will on the AWU 3 and Series 11 extract another few days of battery life from the SiP and firmware optimizations. They have the means to do so.

Enjoy the laggy experience of Garmin’s new firmware and outdated processors. Let alone the watches crashing in critical moments when you need navigation. This is not to say Apple shines above Garmin, rather Garmin has been historically known for stability and that’s not the case as of today.

There is no comparison here. For fitness the Apple Watch doesn’t even belong in the same room as a garmin. Garmin will always be superior. If you need the smart watch feature while running then get the Apple. I have both and now my ultra just sits, wasted money on it.
@MedicineRunner9 сағат бұрын
@@dnice362 Apple may not be as good but watch some of the video comparisons by the quantified scientist. He’s an engineer and does watch testing. Single band Apple watch GPS actually works the same if not better than some of the entry/mid level Garmins (some that have dual band GPS even). That’s pretty important for the fitness stuff if you ask me.
