Oh what a lovely video! Your Robin encounter really had me smiling. Wasn't it an adorable and brave little bird?!. I really miss birding and photography! The American Robin is larger and so different looking, but has a persistent and boisterous song I love. They're in the thrush family, and are singing up a storm now. I heard several singing as I walked in the park yesterday!. It makes me sad to see a "remnant" forest like Sherwood, but at least something is left! As an addict of sea stories and the age of "fighting sail", I realize an awful lot of trees were sacrificed to ship building, sigh! The hall was cool. I bet I'd love the gardens. Isn't it sad for people always having to hand over cash to access their history. It should be free! Nice to see you smiling Kit. I loved the tour!💕😘😊

Oh, Barbara, the robin encounter really made my day. 🥰 Why does everything in America always have to be bigger?! Lol 🤣 Well, mine is small but very distinguished! 😜 Yes, Sherwood Forest is barely even a remnant now. In summer when the trees are in full foliage you can almost be fooled into believing it's a real forest, but even then most of the trees are young and spindly and sparse. Sadly no longer the ancient primeval forest of olde. Hardwick Hall is worth another visit, once the scaffolding comes down. And you don't have to pay for all of them (or any of them) depending on who owns them and what trusts you happen to be a member of. And they have to finance their upkeep somehow. No one minds helping out with that. 😊 I'm glad you enjoyed it. The next three episodes are already filmed, and I think you'll like them. I've been doing proper visits, rather than just faffing about, now that I've found my feet. See you next time, dear friend. 😘 x

Lovely vid! Robins are such trusting birds and great to photograph! £16 for scaffolding is a bit much!! Great to see more content from you and looking forward to your next adventures!!
@kitsworld2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, mate. 😊 Yes, robins are lovely. Glad you liked him. £16 is indeed a bit much, but I guess that's how they pay for the scaff, and it needs to be done. But I would be embarrassed charging tourists to look at a building covered in scaffolding. Yes, plenty more content on the way, and I think I've found my vanlife feet now, so it should be sustainable for a while. 😘x

I'm glad you survived the McDonald's stealth camp 😄 Time for a well-deserved McBreakfast indeed lol "I consider myself a member of all the secret societies by virtue of being slightly bonkers" 🤣🤣 Sherwood Forest seems like a lovely tranquil place. Didn't know there were so many ancient oaks there. Robin is such a pretty bird and you captured him beautifully. The Robin definitely chose you, it's almost as if you two were destined to meet there. I loved the walking montages and I think the music really fits them, there's a kind of nostalgic feeling. Same goes for the driving sequences, together with the music it's like smooth sailing, very relaxing to watch. "Three pounds fifty!?" lol 😄 Sixteen pounds for scaffolding!? 😮 I'd also take the instant karma rather than pay such amounts. In my opinion this is one of your best van life videos!

Thank you for these tours of the English countryside. I’ve visited London for 9 days many years ago but wasn’t able to take in the rural part of the country that I would’ve loved to see. Your videos help quench my curiosity. The Robin was perfectly photographed and it was lovely to see your smile. Was it 3 pounds 5? 😂

You're very welcome, Dolly. And thank you for watching. 😊 Oh, London is very specifically London, and doesn't represent any of the rest of the UK. I'm from there, so I can't diss it too much, but I'd never choose to live there again. You'll be seeing a lot more of the rural stuff in my videos, and the next three are already filmed. I think you'll like them. Proper visits and excursions, rather than just faffing about. I'm finding my feet at last! 😁 Glad you liked the Robin. The souvenir version was three-pounds-and-fifty-pence. £3.50. A total rip off, but I'm mega cheap. Honestly I wish I'd bought it now. It would look nice hanging in the van. Anyway, thank you for watching. See you next time. 😘x

Haha! Dammit, Ken, I wish I'd thought of that! I could have done a whole Friar Tuck skit. 🤣👍 Glad you enjoyed it. I've got the next three weeks already in the can, including some proper visits rather than just faffing about. I think you'll like one in particular, involving a fascinating trip back in time and a ride on a... well, you'll have to wait and see. 😜 Anyway, thanks for watching. See you next time. 😘x Oh, P.S. I have been following your advice. I hope you noticed. 👍😇

Building Bess of Hardwick, do they sell Egg McMuffins in the morning? Birds sound lovely at Sherwood. You are right that seeing the real robin was best. So good to see you smiling on your wonderful drive.

Yes, they do sell Egg McMuffins, but you couldn't pay me to eat one. They smell like fart. 🤮🤣 I always avoid anything with egg in it, except when used as a hidden ingredient like with cake. 😋 Yes, the birdsong at Sherwood was lovely. Thank you for watching. 😘 x

Haha! Yes, I can get lost in my own street! 🤣🤣 I did have a lovely drive that day, and it felt good to be alive. I cherish those days. 🌞🌞🌻🌻 I didn't know that Potter filmed there either, but I guess over the course of 8 films they used a lot of places. I think it was used in Deathly Hallows - which I never bothered to watch. I have a borderline psychotic loathing for a certain TERF who shall remain nameless. 😉😉💩💩🤣🤣 Thanks for watching, Debbi. 😘😘x

Bonkers, that's not a word I hear often haha.The forest looks so calm and peaceful. Oh wow that is a huge oak, amazing!! Those roots go so far! Wow, over 1000 ancient oaks! That is amazing. Aww that it was a bit of a disappointing sight. Awww hi robin! They are such beautiful birds. Wow, you got some amazing photographs of the robin! How nice the robin came so close to you. Yes I would feel honoured too! Awww shame the shop was expensive. It looked really nice (the shop). Yes I'm poor too. The walk looks so tranquil yes. Haha that's a good souvenir too. Nice you got permission to film! 16 pounds yes that seems expensive! Especially since with the scaffolding you can't really see it haha. "You get what you pay for" 😂.

@@kitsworld I love your action in the camper, there was a hill and you said you didn’t know if you could make it up it (all the dramatic tension is there), your walks, trips to the theatre (my father was has done theatre criticism since 1962 and is still writing about theatre), and the yummy food places you visit. All wonderful. Will you introduce any books into your camper van series? I enjoyed your old book videos, but really enjoy your camper van and nature walks as well…. Oh, and that trip around the mountain holding onto the rail scared the crap out of me. Kit for action! Kit for exotic exploration! Kit for scenic panoramas! Kit for theatre! Kit for fun! We want Kit! @@kitsworld You are in my top three Book/CamperTubers. It is frustrating I can’t read more books. I would like to read them frequently, but my mother needs constant care and supervision. So I don’t look at statistics. What do they really tell us? You are producing top content and I am not lying. Some BookTubers receive 10,000 views but their videos aren’t that great (no names here). These videos are firstly for mental health and to connect with other people who appreciate your craft. I thank you for your very fine work and brightening up my day.
