Sherwood Road between Willits and Fort Bragg, CA

For a dual-sport bike, this great road has almost perfect traction when it's dry and can be very slick when wet. It's closed in the winter so you need to time your ride right so you get less dust but ride before they close the gates. Be considerate of the residents at either end and keep the dust and noise down. I was trying to video as many of the riders as possible, so I had to do some passing.

Great video. I’m going to try to make this run the first weekend in April. We haven’t had much rain I figure the gates will be open. Who decides whether to lock or not?

I'm not sure who actually closes and locks the gates and decides when to do that. There is at least one residence past the gates so they have to have a key. The road gets lots of large puddles and slimy sections once the rains come.

Yup, you're right Dylan! I added the segments along the Lost Coast, ending at Ferndale. Good catch! I spaced on the last title which should have said "Almost to Fortuna" Fort Bragg was way in the rear view mirror at that time. Then it was off to the Eel River Brewing Company Pub! @@jimp1941 I live in Fort Bragg now, actually moved from Fortuna lol, I saw this on the recommended, perfect in my mind because I live right by Oak St and if you go east on it it turns into Sherwood to Willits so I wanted to see if that was a viable road to avoid tourist on 20 on the weekends lol. Your next visit to Fortuna you should try Smoke N Barrels, in my option it's got way better food than the eel river
