It's actually amazing to me how well-produced this song is. It has so many little things going on but it never once sounds cluttered, never loses that breezy feeling.

I know what you mean. In 2003, i went through a traumatic 3rd grade with an abusive teacher. I ran off campus once or twice walking in the surrounding neighborhood. My mom put the school district to court and I took a few months away did tutoring in Orange County. Then I transferred to another school in Lakewood a few weeks before school got out for Christmas. Hearing music like this made being a kid in the earl 00’s easier.

When I was in elementary school. This song played ALL THE TIME!! When they said “soak up the sun” I thought they were going to try to get rid of the sun. And as a science geek, I knew that meant bad news. So I always got mad and tried to say something. Ah, good times. Now as a freshman in college, I look back at things like this and chuckle!!

Thanks for the great info. This right here is what a hit record sounds like. I can't help but wonder if they weren't in a Beach Boys zone when they put it together in the studio. I'd love to hear their circa '65 take on this and I'd love to hear Brian Wilson's opinion of it. I'd bet he loved it too.

This song reminds me of St. Barths. This song was playing when we were having Espresso at a cafe. Great memories in St. Barths.

I was born in 2006, my toddlerhood was based on Poker Face, so I didn’t know about the early 2000’s songs till about last year, and I am obsessed. These songs are better than most songs today. 🎶 edit- I really love Sheryl Crow and Alanis Morsiett
